Five months later...

"We're going to attack tonight." The captain announced to his army. "Prepare yourselves. It's going to be dangerous." He waved a hand and dismissed them. It had been five long months since he had gone to the palace and asked for the Queen's blessing. Now, it seemed like a lifetime ago. Battle after battle they had fought, slowly coming closer and closer to the Nightmare King's palace. That day, he kept telling himself, you're going to say something. But, he couldn't bring himself to do it. She had looked so happy talking to her sister, but the moment he walked in, her face seemed to fall. It seemed like just by seeing him, he had made her unhappy. The feeling surely wasn't mutual. He couldn't do anything either, even if he did confess his feelings. She was betrothed to another, and it would be deemed unfit for her to marry the captain of her own army. "Sir, the troops are ready." A knight announced. "Wait for the signal." He replied, holding up his hand. "I'm going to ride ahead." He checked the surrounding areas of the castle. After seeing only two guards on duty, he waved his arm at his army and motioned for them to come forward. "It has been a long journey, and I know some have fallen. That should not threaten you. You will die with honour protecting our country!" He raised his sword in the air. "Charge!" The captain cried, and the troops rode bravely through the castle, battling the Nightmare King's army.

Meanwhile, Queen Elsa was crying. Her sister, Anna, desperately tried to calm her down. "What is all this ruckus?" A voice shouted as a person burst through the doors to Elsa's bedroom. "You." It was the Prince of Fredrikstad. "Stop crying. You're giving me a massive headache." He shook his head. "I should have never have agreed to this marriage." He gave her a look of disgust. Anna narrowed her eyes at him. "Then why don't you return to your kingdom and find someone else?" She clenched her teeth together, trying her best to keep a somewhat polite tone in her voice. He laughed at her. "I have already agreed to this marriage. Everything is in order. Perhaps the first thing I will do when I am married to your pathetic sister is to have both you and your peasant boyfriend thrown out of the palace." Anna glared at him. "You wouldn't dare. You may be betrothed to my sister, but you are still currently a guest at our palace and I have every right to throw you out at this very moment." He grinned an evil smile. "Only the Queen has that power, and I'm sure she knows what will happen if she throws me out. Isn't that right my flower?" Elsa, normally strong and confident, stayed silent. "Good." He turned and walked away. Elsa burst into tears again. "I hate him!" She sobbed. "Why do I have to marry him?" Anna patted her back. "He seemed polite at first..." Elsa wiped her eyes. "At first." She emphasized. "Why is it so important that you have to marry him?" Anna asked. "Sorry, I forgot." She apologized when Elsa turned to look at her. "Our ties with many of the neighboring countries are growing thin. If I marry Bastien, not only will our ties with the Fredrikstad be stronger, but many of our other ones. Fredrikstad has many strong ties. I have to do this, especially after loosing our ties to Weselton." Anna shook her head. "Weselton was definitely trouble Elsa. Can't you change this?" Elsa shook her head. "It would be an insult to Fredrikstad if I were to reject Bastien now. The wedding is less than two months away." "Are you sure there isn't anything you can do about this?" Elsa shook her head. "Only if the council deems him unfit to marry me and rule." "Don't they see he is absolutely horrid?" Anna protested. "Don't you see? I have no choice. I was born into this role, and now it is my duty to fulfill it. Good day Anna." Elsa stood up and walked out of the room.
