The captain rode through the castle hall on his horse. The wounded and fallen were everywhere, but his troops seemed to have it under control. The Nightmare King's army was slowly retreating. He sought out his first commander. "Edmund, I'm going after Pitch. Don't come after me. You're in charge." "What?! You're going to get yourself killed!" He called after him as he rode to meet Pitch. The captain ignored him as he continued to travel quickly through the castle. Finally, he burst through the doors to the throne room where the Nightmare King was waiting.
"Ah, Captain Jack Frost. What a surprise! Didn't you know it was rude to just drop in without an invite?" Pitch sneered, stepping off the throne. "You practically invited the six kingdoms to your door when you attacked Arendelle and Lillesland!" Jack growled. Pitch pulled his two swords from his back. He brought his swords down against Jack's and Jack struggled to keep it away from himself. "Your stupid six kingdoms are a pathetic union. I have more strength and power than any of your kingdoms could ever rival!" He forced the blades against Jack, knocking him back. He fought to keep his breath and Pitch relentless hit him with his swords again and again. "I can't believe you of all people is trying to stop me. I always thought Arendelle was a weak nation. Especially your ruler. What's her name again? Ah yes, that silly girl Elsa." Jack lifted his sword against Pitch. Pitch stopped his blow with ease. Jack rolled over to avoid being stabbed in the side. "How dare you say anything against her!" Jack swung his sword at Pitch. "Isn't she betrothed to Prince Bastien? I always thought he was quite a nice gentleman. Too bad he has to marry her instead of a more suitable wife." "How dare you say that. If anything, Bastien is unfit for Queen Elsa." Pitch laughed as he knocked Jack onto his back again. "Judging by the way you're speaking about her, I would say you love her!" Pitch gave another laugh. "Ah what a tragic love story. The captain of the guards in love with the queen! Too bad he has to die!" Pitch twisted the sword out of Jack's hand and pinned him to the ground. By now, Jack was badly hurt, bloodied and bruised. "Well well, look who won again Jack?" Pitch laughed, a sound that seemed to echo countless times through the throne room despite the raging battles taking place in the palace. "Say goodbye, Jack." Pitch raised his sword and brought it down toward Jack. Even as he braced himself for impact, he mind couldn't help but wander back to a certain someone at home. Jack never did figure out whether the pain or sword took him first, but either way the darkness swallowed him whole.
Lillesland is an actual place if you're wondering.
