Kayleen Rosie Maxwell
English class just finished and I walk towards Liam. We walk through the busy hallway, off to our next classes.
"Did you teach Gemma about her math thing?" I ask Liam.
"Yeah. She's really easy to teach." Liam says.
"What happened to Zayn? I heard he got into a fight?" A small frown appears on my face.
I've been hearing a lot about Zayn and another senior fighting, but it's not against Luke or any of his bandmates.
"Well, he-"
Out of nowhere, I was pulled by the arm, away from Liam and into the janitor's closet, then I scream.
"Who are you?!" I slap his face and I gasp, "Why did you bloody kidnap me!?" I asked the one and only Luke Hemmings.
"OW! I didn't kidnap you!" He says, holding his red cheek.
"You, You imbecile!" I point at him.
"Thank you." He bows.
I cross my arms, "It wasn't a compliment."
"It was for me." He winks.
"Ugh, im outta here." I twist the door nob, but Luke grabs my arm.
"Kayleen." He says, "I need to tell you something."
"Which is?"
"You should-" Luke starts.
I cut him off, "You know what? I don't care."
Luke grabs my arm and pushes me against a wall, our faces inches apart. I couldn't move with his face in front of me. My breath hitches as his face moves closer.
"Now that I have your attention, stay away from silent nerd." His eyes turn into a dark blue.
"You mean James." I correct him, "And why would I stay away from him? He's nice and smart unlike you, you're disgusting and you treat everyone like trash."
"Because it will ruin your reputations." He says, dodging the insults I gave him, "And why the hell would you hang out with a turd?"
"Yeah right." I smirk, "You're just jealous."
"Im not." He says blankly.
"I would rather hang out with a turd," I start, putting up air quotes, "Rather than a egotistical jerk who only cares about himself." And with that, I walk out the janitor's closet.
--
I have decided to not tell Gemma about what happened in the janitor's closet. It didn't really matter, so why make a big deal out of it?
"Come study with me at the new coffee shop." Gemma begs as we walk away from the school grounds, "I have been waiting for months for it to open."
"But im working on a project tonight."
Gemma shows me her 'puppy face' and I couldn't help but give in, "Fine, but you're paying for' the food and drinks."
"Deal."
"Ugh, do I really have to bribe you with money? Hun, I'm becoming broke because of you." Gemma jokes.
"What can I say? I love free food."
--
We enter the small shop and I am completely bedazzled by my surroundings. Simple lanterns surrounded above the beige tables. Soft music is played in the background. This is definitely a nice place to study.
Once the waitress got our orders, Gemma starts to do her History homework. I read my Spanish book for a quiz tomorrow.
"Hey princess." Luke approaches me out of nowhere. Honestly, it has to stop. It's getting weird.
I don't look at him, "What are you doing here."
"I'm going to get a coffee, duh."
Luke Hemmings in this coffee shop? I highly doubt it.
"What's that smell?" I ask and scrunch my nose, smelling his perfume.
"Its called 'Nice and Easy'" He winks, "What do you have on?"
"It's called 'Stay away'" I roll my eyes. I felt Gemma snicker.
"Geez, you're so hard to impress." Luke says, "Do you want to go out with me sometime?"
"Sorry, I don't date dīckhēads." I gave him annoyed look, "Especially not a guy named Luke Hemmings."
"Whatever." He rolls his eyes, "It's your loss."
"Nope," I shake my head, "It's your loss."
"You are so annoying." Luke walks away from our table and I sigh and turn back to my history book.
A long silence occurred and only the sound of pages flipping are heard. I highlight all the important texts in the book until Gemma started talking.
"How are we even going to apply this in the future?" She groans as she flips a page on her math book, "Like who the hell buys 2540 watermelons? And do you have to square the number in order to--ugh, this is so frustrating!"
"Same here." I chuckle and we turn back to our books.
