Survey Corps

It's been a month with my new family and all I gotta say is that they are awesome. I mean they are way better than my other "family." My mom is the best cook ever and my father is so nice. Too bad they'll have to die soon because of the attack and whatever. I wonder when is Wall Maria going to be destroyed?

I left my room with a simple white dress and shoes. I was outside the house because I needed some fresh air. Time to make memories because you never know when you'll need them. My mom was cleaning and my dad was reading.

"I'm going out for a bit!" I shouted to them.

"Ok! Be careful and stay safe!" My father said to me. I wonder why he said that? The thought of it sent a shiver down my spine.

I went out the house and felt the cool breeze hit my face. Ahh...the weather was beautiful today! The leaves were green, the air was fresh and it was oddly calm. Strange. As I continued to walk to the town I heard the Pastor spouting nonsense about the wall and god and such. What a nutcase.

I walked to a small stand to get something to eat because I forgot to eat before I left.

"Could I have an apple?" I asked the man running the stand while giving him some money.

"No need to pay. A pretty girl like you doesn't need to pay for something simple like an apple."

"Wow thanks mister!" I said while we eating the apple and running away.

I suddenly heard a bell in the air. The Survey Corps must be back! As people started to gather I squeezed myself in the front to see. This is one of the first times I ever had time to see them. As they walked into the wall I noticed their sullen faces. Oh no. I know what's going to happen.

"MOSES! MOSES! Where is my son?!?" The woman asked to Keith as she looked frantically for her son.

"I wish I had better news. Give it to her."

He handed her a bloody cloth. She looked in horror as inside the cloth was an bloody arm. I knew this was going to happen but not in this way. The arm was bruised with black and purple. I couldn't stand to look at it.

"I'm sorry. That's what was left of him.." Keith said to her as she sobbed while clutching the arm. Keith bended down in front of her.

"H-He did good. He was brave. But tell me that my son worked until the very end. Please tell me that his death meant something! Please tell me his sacrifice gave us a better chance!" She cried while the district was silent.

"He was brave! But his sacrifice meant nothing. With all the lost...it's always the same. The day we lost we had nothing! Your son died because of me! I sent him to his death! I sent all of them to their deaths! There's nothing to show for it, it all adds up to nothing!"

I covered my mouth in horror as I watched the words flow out. I felt tears roll down my cheeks and on to the ground. The words stuck to my mind as the Survey Corps left.

The crowd started to file out as I started to walk away. I feel bad for the Survey Corps and Moses' mother. Life is just cruel sometimes.

"YOU LITTLE PUNK!" I heard a man yell to..EREN?! He's always making bad decisions isn't he? I watched as Mikasa grabbed him before he could lay another hit on the man. I ran in their direction just to see Mikasa throw Eren as hard as she could into the wall. That girl sure was strong.

"Oh my god! Eren are you ok?" I asked while running to him.

"Y-Yeah. I'm ok. Thanks Venus." He said while blushing as I helped him pick up the wood.

"Hello Mikasa." I said while looking at the girl with a grin. She looked at me but didn't say anything. Somebody is jealous.

"So Venus, were you here for the Survey Corps" Eren asked curiously.

"Yeah, pretty sad what happened to the woman's son."

"Eren, are you still think about joining the Survey Corps?" Mikasa asked Eren. He looked at her but didn't say anything. No matter the answer he's still going to join.

"Eren, I think it's time to go back home." Mikasa said while grabbing Eren from the back of his shirt.

"Ow Mikasa and  bye Venus!" He said while waving to me. I waved back and started to head home. This sure was going to be day...
