12:14 read the clock at Moore Coffee. Was I just kidding myself when I actually believed this Logan guy was going to show up on time? As I sipped on my cappuccino, I looked out the window at the cloudy day.
"I'm here! Don't be mad!"
"You're late," was all I said as I continued looking out the window and not at him.
"I know, I'm sorry, my fish died," said Logan as he sat down across from me.
"And what's your dead fish's name?" I asked looking at him as he was trying to catch his breath.
"His name? Uh, fish is his name."
"You named your fish, fish?" I asked looking at him in annoyance.
"Okay, you caught me, I don't have a fish. I was just late because I hit snooze."
"I don't have time for this," I said as I put my money on the table and grabbed my purse.
"No please don't go, I'm here now, let's talk," said Logan as he reached out and grabbed my wrist.
"Fine, but you're paying," I said as I went to order more. "Yes, hi, I'll have a bacon waffle and more of the crazy cappuccino."
"Are we just going to forget about the fact that we take the same medicine?" asked Logan as I ate my waffle.
"So?" I said as I chewed.
"So? Just so? How can you not think its amazing that we found each other?" asked Logan as he took a bite of his caprese sandwich.
"I mean yeah it is pretty weird that we both take the same but I'm sure there are others that do the same," I said, knowing that I will never run into anyone else with the same medicine.
"In my whole life I've never met anyone who was like us."
"Alright look, I haven't met anyone else either, but if you're like me, then it's possible there are others like us, we just haven't found them yet," I said.
"I guess. Hey have you been to the doctor about it? My dad doesn't understand me at all," said Logan as he sipped his coffee.
"Yeah my doctor is great! His name is Gabriel Larson, here's his number. He has a private practice." I said writing my doctor's name down on a napkin.
"Thanks, so when is our second date?" asked Logan with a boyish grin.
"And what makes you think this one went so well there needs to be a second?" I asked with a roll of my eyes, trying to hold back a smile.
"Well we obviously found each other for a reason, and I think we're soulmates. You know, opposites attract," he said with a wink.
"Whoever came up with that saying didn't know you," I said as I got up from my chair. Logan payed the bill and opened the door for me.
"Their loss," laughed Logan as he took my hand in his.
"What are you doing?" I said as I snatched my hand away from his.
"Oh are we not there yet?" joked Logan as he threw his head back and laughed.
"And we're not going to be," I said as I walked ahead of him.
"Girl from the store, you just watch, we'll be together," grinned Logan as he waved down a taxi.
"My name is Tori, not 'girl from the store'," I said as I also waved down a taxi.
"Whatever you say."
