I was 11 and was the ' man of the house '.
I had to be. My twin brother Liam, my mum and my older brother Alex were a mess.
Dad was sick and was dying.
The doctor came and told us to have last words and bid goodbye.
We went inside. I was trying to be strong but I was failing.
Dad talked to mum, Liam and then Alex and called my name to whisper in my ear. I couldn't control my tears.
"Harvard 2023", he said and held my hand. I smiled with tears in my eyes and replied, " Harvard 2023."
After the funeral, his lawyer gathered the family and was announcing the will.
Mum got 30% shares of his multi-million business.
My 20 years old brother Alex became the CEO.
Liam and me were to inherit our share after we turn 18.
I thought everything was done so I got up and was headed outside.
" Oh and Charlotte, this is for you." the lawyer said and handed me an envelope.
I opened it.
It was a recommendation letter for Harvard.
I cried.
I love you dad.
