Lennon freaked me out earlier, her panic attacks were becoming more frequent and I never knew what to say. Of course I comforted her and told her that everything was going to be okay but I wasn’t a counselor. I didn’t know what was best for her. I just wanted her to be happy and she wasn’t happy. I couldn’t see it on her face. It wasn’t my decision to make though, she had to want to talk to someone.

I walked into the kitchen with my sweats on, looking for a snack. I pulled a bag of chips out of the cupboard and poured some into a bowl. My phone vibrated in my pocket and I quickly checked it, seeing Lennon’s name pop up across the screen.

Hey can I come over? xx

I smiled and quickly typed my response.

Yeah sure, when were you thinking?

I pressed send and shoved a few chips in my mouth, staring down at my phone waiting for a reply.

Now?

It finally buzzed. My smile widened, a voice in the back of my head was happy that she wanted to see me, but I knew that there was something she wanted to talk to be about, something that was upsetting her.

Now sounds great! See you soon! x

My Mom walked into the kitchen in her pajamas, ready to watch her favorite show, America’s Top Model.

“What are you doing tonight?” She asked.

“Lennon’s coming over, hope that’s okay.” I told her, starting to head into the living room with my bowl of chips.

“Yeah that’s fine, I’ll make myself scarce.” She winked and I just laughed because I knew she knew nothing like that was going to happen.

“Okay.” I shook my head.

I waited for Lennon, sitting on the couch with the TV on. About ten minutes passed before I heard a knock on the door. I jumped up and opened the door to reveal Lennon looking distraught. I reached for her hand but she flinched away.

“S-sorry, I don’t know why I’m so jumpy.” She looked down, fiddling her thumbs.

“It’s alright.” I tried to convince her but she just shook her head.

“It’s not. I don’t want to be nervous, you don’t deserve this…” She muttered, but I cut her off before she could continue.

“Stop. It’s okay, seriously. Don’t worry about me, I told you I don’t mind waiting. I’m a patient guy.” I tried to make her smile but I only earned a small one.

“Okay…”

“Do you want to go up to my room? We can just talk.” I suggested. I couldn’t remember if my room was clean but I was sure she wouldn’t mind if it was a mess. She nodded and followed my up to my room, closing the front door behind her. My room wasn't bad. I quickly picked up some odds and ends and threw them into a pile in the corner of the room. Lennon sat down on my bed and I sat down across from her.
