"Michael," Luke called, "have you got anymore Mary Jane?"
"Sorry man, I've run dry for now." Michael replied.
"Fuck, it's been like 3 weeks since you've gotten anything." Luke claimed.
"My friend almost got caught by the cops Luke. He's been off the radar for a few weeks, but he said he'd get it to me by next week." Michael said. Luke just rolled his eyes and walked away.
"Sorry." Michael said to Kaylin with an awkward laugh.
"It's fine." Kaylin replied with a smile.
"Whatchya reading?" Michael nervously asked.
"Eleanor and Park. It's about two misfits." Kaylin told Michael.
"So like me? A freak?" Michael asked, trying to hide his face in his hair.
"Michael, you're not a misfit and definitely not a freak. Does it say Freak Clifford on your birth certificate?" Kaylin said.
"No." Michael laughed. "To be honest, I didn't think you noticed me."
"Of course I noticed you, I mean I knew who you were." Kaylin said and Michael smiled to himself. Kaylin didn't make him feel nervous. He didn't feel uncomfortable or scared or petrified, just content.

"Yeah that Luke kid's an asshole." Grace said to Calum and Ashton, who were now facing backwards so they could talk to her.
"Why does he have to go around taunting us like this? Like who is he helping?" Calum complained. Calum was so done with Luke's shit since the first time he made contact with him.
"Just don't let him bother you, or at least don't let him know that he is." Ashton said.
"Ugh!" Calum and Grace both groaned at the same time.
"So how come I haven't ever got to know you Calum? You seem pretty cool." Grace asked.
"I don't know you are really popular and I'm just a regular student." Calum explained.
"I wish I got to know you sooner, you really feel me." Grace said, which made Calum blush. The fact that Grace was talking to him made his little heart flutter. He never imagined that he would be in this situation, actually talking to her. He kind of just daydreamed about it. And the fact that she was actually complimenting him made him feel good about himself.
"Yeah." Calum replied, mesmerized by her.
"So look what we have here." Luke said as he stood in the front of the classroom.
"A jock, a nerd, a freak, a popular, a nobody, and a bad boy." he laughed. "Hah, it sounds like the beginning of a bad joke."
"This day is a bad joke." Calum muttered and Grace laughed.
"What'dya say?" Luke asked.
"Nothing asshole." Calum replied, followed by an "ooo" from everybody else in the room. Luke's face turned from jokey to clearly pissed off.
"Hey why don't you shut your trap before you get yourself into more trouble?" Luke said to Calum.
"Dick." Calum called Luke. This provoked Luke enough to jump at Calum. Luke shoved Calum off the chair and punched him. Calum rolled to the front of the room so he was on top and returned the punch.
"Hey!" Ashton said making his way over to them. Luke pushed Calum down and punched him again.
"Get off me!" Calum yelled. Ashton was trying to pull Luke off of Calum, but it was a more harder to do than it looked.
