Chapter 34 - Fast rope

Sa maikling panahon na nakilala ko si Ruri, naging importante na siya sa akin parang si Rafael. Aside from Ichiro at Big Boss, si Rafael, Ruri at si Hunter lang ang pinaka importante sa akin. Sila lang ang tinuring kong kapatid at kapamilya.

I grew up like a princess when I was a kid hanggang lumaki ako. My father is Russian high ranking officer and my mother is a Filipina. Mataas ang posisyon ng daddy ko noon sa government, but my parents kept my identity in secret dahil alam na nila na nasa panganib ako. I was in high school when my parents were assassinated due to political issue.

Doon ako unang pinuntahan ni Ichiro. He asked me to be part of his secret organization of assasins. Dahil wala na akong pamilya, pumayag ako sa kagustuhan ni Ichiro. Hindi ako nagsisi dahil ang mga kasamahan ko na assassins ay mas dalisay pa ang puso kaysa sa normal na tao na kakilala ko.

I found out later on that our association is permitted to kill by the government. We are like an underground team who is eliminating the evil people in this world. This is risky as we can die anytime, pero buong puso kong tinanggap ang trabaho ko.

Dito ko nakilala si Rafael at si Hunter. Just like me, both of them are victims of senseless killings. We developed a strange bond to each other na para kaming magkakapatid.

Rafael is half Scottish, Hunter is half American, samantalang ako ay half Russian. The Filipino blood is our only connection.

"Rafael, malayo ang landing area ng chopper sa bahay niyo. How about using the rope ladder? I can hover the chopper malapit sa property niyo?" tanong ni Hunter na nag-aalala na din kay Ruri.

"That will take a few minutes. I need to be with Ruri as soon as possible. Nika, prepare your gloves. We will use the fast rope technique."

Tumango lang ako sa kanya. Gamit ang isang makapal na rope, we can quickly descend down from the helicopter pababa sa property nila Ruri at Rafael. This will save us a lot of time.

Hindi na kami nahirapan ni Rafael dahil pareho kaming trained sa ganitong extraction technique. Madali kami nakababa sa malawak na garden nila.

Pumasok kami agad ni Rafael sa bahay nila nang mapansin namin ang dalawang black vans na biglang nag park sa tapat ng gate. Ruri is our priority right now. We need to keep her safe.

"They found us, Rafael. Any plans?" tanong ko habang pababa kami ng hagdan.

"If they have tools, they can get inside the property within ten minutes---"

Napatigil si Rafael sa pagsasalita when we heard an explosion. Someone must have attached an explosive device sa gate nila para makapasok.

"Damn it! Ruri loves this house pa naman! We have no choice but to move after this shit storm!"

"Kasalanan ito ni Levine."

"No, Nika. Kasalanan ko ito. I became soft because of Ruri. I thought we have already defeated Levine. I underestimated that man. He probably prepared some chaos even after his death."

Pagbaba namin sa office niya, nakita ko agad si Ruri na hawak ang tiyan at katabi si Copper sa couch. Niyakap agad siya ni Rafael dahil sa sobrang pag-aalala.

"Hey, love. Please don't cry. Andito ko at si Nika. Even Hunter will be here soon," sabi ni Rafael as he cupped her face.

"May explosion akong narinig sa malapit. Rafael, sino ang humahabol sa atin?"

"Don't worry about it, love."

"Rafael! I want to know who is behind this?"

"We think that Levine's men are after us. Wag ka na mag-alala. I am here for you and for our baby. Do you trust me?"

Tumango lang si Ruri sa kanya. I can feel that both of them really love each other. Masaya ako na natagpuan ni Rafael ang happiness sa piling ni Ruri. I can't help but to dream na sana, may true happiness din na nakalaan para sa akin.

But I stopped myself from thinking about these absurd things.

I am an assassin. I belong in a different world. I don't think I deserve this kind of happiness...
