Pagpasok ko sa loob ng bahay, nandoon na si Reese na nakaupo sa sofa. She stood up nang makita niya ako. Lumapit siya sa akin at bigla akong niyakap. I thought she is just hugging me as a casual greeting pero hindi pa rin niya ko binitawan.
"Hunter, I missed you," bulong niya sa akin habang hinahaplos ang buhok ko.
I know that Nika can see us from here. Kung hindi lang against sa code namin ang pumatay ng inosente na tao, malamang binaril na ni Nika si Reese sa mga oras na ito.
"Reese? May problema ba?" tanong ko sa kanya habang bahagyang tinutulak siya palayo sa akin.
I asked her to seat on the sofa bed, pero nagulat na lang ako nang hinawakan niya ang dalawang kamay ko at nilagay sa mukha niya.
"Is it true? Ikakasal ka na ba?"
"Yes, I am getting married. I am still finalizing things with my wedding coordinator, but I will officially be a married man within a few weeks."
"Siya ba yung childhood friend mo na nakasagutan ko? She looks different. Hindi ko alam na royalty siya."
"She is indeed a royalty, but I love her noon pa."
"Hunter, paano na ko?"
"What do you mean, Reese? You are still my friend."
"Anong gagawin mo sa akin if I am pregnant with your child?"
Pregnant? Anong klaseng joke ito?
"Reese, that is impossible. I used protection during that time. At saka, that was about five months ago. You don't look pregnant."
"Buntis ako, Hunter at ikaw ang ama. Maliit lang ako mabuntis kaya hindi pa halata."

I was in the midst of confusion when I felt Nika's presence. Papalapit siya sa amin and her face is unreadable. She must have heard kung anong sinabi ni Reese.
"Nika... You must have met Reese, my former manager," mahina kong sabi sa kanya.
"Nika or Cheneil, I am really sorry that we start off on the wrong foot. Hindi ko alam na may relationship na kayo ni Hunter. He did not tell me na girlfriend ka niya. I hope you can forgive me for calling you a prostitute," sabi ni Reese kay Nika with emphasis sa word na prostitute.
Mahigit isang taon ko na kilala si Reese at puro kabutihan ang pinakita niya sa akin. She took care of me and ensured that I will always get the best projects. But the Reese that I am facing right now looks pretentious. I can feel that her apology is not sincere. Kung nararamdaman ko ito, malamang alam ni Nika ito.
"Reese, sorry din if I call you fugly. I am just being damn honest. I can't help it."
"Wwhat?"
"Uulitin ko, you are fucking ugly, Reese. You are hideous piece of shit inside out. And you are saying sorry now? I don't fucking believe you. Do you know why? Because excrements like you don't say sorry to people!"
Reese was shocked to hear Nika's severe verbal castigation. Kahit ako ay nabigla sa mga lumalabas sa bibig ni Nika. Maldita si Nika, pero hindi ko akalain na lalaitin niya si Reese ng ganito.
"Hunter, you heard her. She's an ill-mannered bitch and you chose this girl as your fiancee? I know that you better than this! Did you just marry her because she is rich?" naiiyak na sabi ni Reese.
Kung alam ko lang na mag-aaway na naman sila, hindi ko na hinayaan na magtagpo na naman ang mga landas nilang dalawa. Naiipit ako sa dalawang babaeng ito.
"Hoy Reese, Hunter is my fiancee now so get the fuck out of our lives! I don't want to see your repulsive face ever again! Isang beses ko pa makita ang pagmumukha mo dito, gigilitan talaga kita ng leeg hanggang mangisay ka!"
"Nika, please stop it. Reese is here to make amends."
"To make amends? Eh andito nga siya para sirain yun kasal natin eh! Hoy babaeng baliw. Don't threaten us with your imaginary pregnancy! Sa hitsura mong yan, feeling mo pwede ka magparami ng lahi?"
"Veronika, shut the fuck up!" sigaw ko sa kanya.
"You are defending this rotten feces again dahil sinabi niya na buntis siya? Hunter, alam ko na bobo ka, pero di ko alam na sasadsad ang pagkabobo mo sa lowest level!"
"Veronika, I said shut up! She's right. If she is really pregnant, I need to be responsible."
"Kiking-ina, Hunter. Saan mo ba nilagay ang utak mo? Paki insert nga dyan sa skull mo para gumana! She's just using this make-believe pregnancy to stop our wedding! She's a fraudulent bitch!"
Sasagot pa sana ako kay Nika pero biglang humagulgol na ng iyak si Reese. Tumakbo siya palabas ng bahay dahil hindi na siguro niya nakayanan ang sinasabi ni Nika.
"Stay here, Veronika. We are not yet done!" galit na sabi ko sa kanya saka ko hinabol si Reese.
