Although I am the almighty, hot, amazing Prince of Thomas' mind, every dashing knight has their weakness. Mine, in fact, is cooking. I can't bake a cake or make dinner, when it comes to cracking eggs I far from being the winner (ooh, that rhymed!). Patton, being the softest puffball padre we have available to us, does all of the cooking and makes sure we all eat our vegetables. He promised he'd be out by 1:30pm for lunch, but it's now 1:45 and needless to say I am a strong man who needs his enchanting meals to survive!

Virgil looked up from his phone and glanced at the kitchen. A streak of worry flashed across his face.

"What is it, My Chemically Imbalanced Romance," I sighed, watching as he glowered at me. I saw a tint of crimson under his ghostly pale foundation. He was blushing a lot around me lately. Maybe because I'm so charming (Okay, Patton has definitely been rubbing off on me. A Dad joke?!).

Logan looked up from his thick book and adjusted his glasses, waiting for Virgil to respond.

"It's just... Patton's never this late. I'm worried, you guys. He's... well, he's like a father to me."

The light crimson on Virgil's cheeks and nose went blood red. I found it endearing.

"I, too am getting perturbed about Patton's dilatoriness. He is almost never this late. Nevertheless, we couldn't start without him, he would have an intense case of..."

Logan stopped and sifted through his cards. He held one out that read-

"FOMO."

"True that, Calculator Watch. Perhaps he has conjured a puppy to play with?" I said, smiling at the thought.

"Or maybe he is preoccupied sifting through his abundance of Thomas' memories," Logan added.

"Or, he's going through a rough spot again," Virgil said. I watched as fear washed over his features. I put my hand over his. He flinched then looked at me. He looked confused, frightened and... excited?

"Don't worry, emo nightmare. I'm sure Patton will be here soon."

I didn't think his face could get any redder. If it did he would melt off his foundation.

"Aww, that's cute!"

We looked up to see Patton, his Cat Hoodie draped over his shoulders, his blue shirt blasting colour into the room, his admirable cheeky grin filling the room.

"Patton! We were beginning to feel disquieted about your absence."

Logan once again sifted through his vocabulary cards.

"You Good Fam?" he finally said. We turned to Patton. His grin grew wider and a look of passion and love flashed in his eyes (believe me, I know the look). Then confusion washed over his face and he shook his head.

"Uh, I'm good. Well, sorry to leave you hungry, kiddos. We know that us being hungry does bad things to Thomas' mind. How about sandwiches?"

"Yes!" Virgil and I cheered.

"Satisfactory," Logan added, smiling fondly at Patton.

Patton blushed before disappearing into the kitchen.
