Adrenaline pumping, I cling to the window sill before dropping to the ground.
I've never felt so, well, alive.
Of course I'm still scarred by the raping, and obviously, it's always going to affect me. But for the first time in a while, I feel free again.
Like I've stuck up for myself.
Although, I suppose Ryan did most of the, well, sticking up.
I stand to the side of the window and giggle as he squeezes through the gap.
His eyes look crazy, lit up by the street lamp.
But not manic crazy, more like overexcited puppy crazy.
We both grin at each other, shocked.
I have no idea how long we were in there for, how long the whole event took, all I care about is the present.
And we still have 4 rules left.
Four days for four rules.
I'm excited.
We both jog back up the drive, Ryan shaking from trying to hold back bouts of laughter, my cheeks aching from smiling so much.
We did it.
I unlock the car and slide into the driver's seat, the car's night light glowing up the street.
Ryan slams the door as he crawls into the seat next to me.
For a few seconds, we both don't speak.
I just stare at him, still breathless from shock.
I just did that.
Then we make eye contact and both start laughing.
At first, it starts as just a giggle, but it slowly builds up, until after a few minutes we're howling, shaking with laughter.
Happy tears run down my cheeks.
"You're pretty bloody brave for a gay boy," Ryan smirks, still almost hysterical.
I punch him on the shoulder lightly, still laughing.
He flinches away but knows I'm only joking.
I check the time on the car.
10:30 pm
I suddenly don't want to go home.
I want to spend the rest of forever, in a dark road, in a cold car, feeling ecstatic with Ryan Gold.
"I have an idea," I smile.
He stares at me, still giggling.
"Hm?" He smirks, "Really, because earlier you seemed as though you'd never had a decent idea in your life. I honestly thought you were going to leave!"
I shake my head.
"I know, I'm sorry. This is my first time doing something this crazy, this insane! Can we agree not to talk about me nearly backing out?" I pause, grinning, "I just broke the law, for breaking and entering!"
This sets us off again, soon enough we're both in stitches.
I try to control myself.
"Ryan, I have an idea," I say, smiling, "You haven't set rule two yet, have you?"
He shakes his head.
"Well I think that since you set the last one, this time it's my go," I say, cautiously.
"Oh really," Ryan smirks, teasing, "I thought you didn't want to do this anymore?"
I punch him again, this time harder.
"I told you not to mention that again!" I laugh, "You were right, ok, this evening been amazing!"
"Fine, I'll let you set a rule, but don't be a pussy!" He laughs.
I shake my head, pretending to be irritated.
I'm not sure he could ever irritate me again.
"Fine Ryan, this rule's mainly for you, since you always seem to think I'm so much younger than you, I've decided to do something about it," I say, laughing as he blushes.
He looks panicked.
"Oh god, what the hell is your rule Callum?" He says miserably, rolling his eyes. Despite everything, his eyes are still gleaming through.
"Well," I say, loving the power, "It starts tonight, right here and right now."
He nods.
"I don't want to go home yet, do you?" I continue, desperately hoping he won't let me down.
"Of course not," He smirks.
"I've never been to a bar before, to a proper one where people get drunk."
He smiles and says, "I like the sound of this Callum."
"Well I suggest we get hammered at the three horses and celebrate being young and free," I laugh, secretly anxious he'll think I'm being stupid.
He laughs, smiling as the adrenaline wears off.
"Ok Callum, shit I have a football game tomorrow but I'll sure as hell take advantage of this moment," he pauses, "What the hell have I done to you? You've changed so much!"
I laugh.
"Sorry, you don't have to come tonight, if you have a football game tomorrow," I sigh, annoyed that I forgot.
He shakes his head, "Callum getting drunk is something I would rather die than miss!"
I shake my head, smirking.
I suddenly realise something.
"My name isn't Callum anymore," I announce, surprising myself.
"What?" Ryan stares at me, confused.
"My name's Cal."
He grins.
