A/N: Since I don't accurately know much about cancer, I'm sorry if some parts are weird. Also I'm sorry for the very long wait!

"Kano?"

"Yes, Y/N?~"

"I love you so much, dear."

"I know. I love you so much too"

Kano used his powers again. He didn't want Y/N to see him crying. He wanted her to see him still happy until the end so that if she... falls asleep, she'll be able to do it without any worries.

She has cancer and there's a high chance that she could die next month.

"Doctor. How is she?" Kano asks.

"I do not know if she will-

"WHEN!" Kano interrupted.

"Right.. I do not know when she will be able to continue living a normal life but when she does, I recommend her to move around less for a month or so. So far, her condition is stable but it may go down as well."

".... Thank you, doctor."

Kano looked at her sleeping figure and slipped his finger into hers, smiling sadly.

He hated how he was feeling right now. He didn't want something like this to happen again. Unlike Kano and the others in Mekakushi Dan, Y/N was still alive. All the Mekakushi Dan members are all dead. They gained power after dying. They didn't come back to life. They're just like ghosts with a physical body. Kano wasn't so sure if others' were aware of this.

"Kano?" Y/N called out with a weak voice.

"Ah... sorry did I wake you up?" Kano held her hand gently and smiled.

"I know you're worried but the best you can do for me is stay happy as always and look out for me. Don't worry too much okay? I'll be fine." Y/N was the best at giving comfort to Kano.

"Thanks."Kano smiled and kissed the back of Y/N's hand lightly.

Just then, someone knocks on the door and enters the room.

"Ms L/N? Y/N L/N? You are now going to take the surgery. Before that, the doctor would like to check on you." A nurse announces.

"Well, I guess I'll go outside now. Best of luck, Y/N!" Kano grins, making Y/N at least smile back.

"Thank you, sir, for watching over and taking care of her." The nurse thanks him.

"It's the best I can do rather than to just sit and hope."

"Kano? You alright?" Seto walks in with a bottled water and hands it over to Kano.

"Ah. Yeah. What brings you here anyways?" Kano gladly took the bottled water from Seto's hand.

"Kido Danchou wanted me to check on you. She wanted to do so herself but it seems that she had a problem to deal with." Seto informs.

"I see.... She went to have a surgery and it's been 15 minutes. I'm scared Seto! What if it's that day all over again! Losing some close to me..." Kano grabbed locks of his hair and lowered his head.

"She'll be okay. I'm sure. Even if she's in that state, she will never give up. She'll keep fighting as long as she knows she'll be able to be with you much longer. So you too should believe in her." Seto encourages.

"You're right. Thanks Seto. That helped a lot."

"Glad to be of help. Well then, I'll have to get going now. See you later, Kano."

"See you later."

An hour later, the doctor comes out and Kano rushes over to him.

"How is she, docor?!"

"The surgery is a success but we might still need to check on her daily for a week. And she might experience a migraine when she wakes up." The doctor explains and Kano steps back.

"Can I visit her now?"

"I'm afraid that is not possible. Please come back again tomorrow."

"Oh... I'm counting on you doctor. Plese take good care of her as I am gone."

"I will. Thank you for always staying by her. You should get some rest for now." The doctor suggests, noticing the dark circles at Kano's eyes.

"Thank you very much."

Kano went straight home and into his room.

"Well, I'm not a religious person but... Oh God, please make sure Y/N will be in the best condition..." He let himself fall onto the bed and dozed off early.

"Kano? Kano! Hahaha! Kano? Ka-"

Kano quickly shot his eyes open and scanned around the room to see if anyone was present.

None.

"Must have been a dream... Time to go." Kano mumbles to himself and quickly freshened up.

He rushed over to Y/N's room and at the door standing was the doctor.

"Ah! Doctor! Good morning! How's Y/N?! Is she okay??" Kano was eager for his answers.

"Oh. Mr Kano. Good morning. Y/N just woke up a few minutes ago and she only seems to have a headache for now but it will calm down soon." Kano smiled in relief as he heard those words.

"Thank you so much... I'll now excuse myself. Take care, doctor!" Kano left to enter the room and saw Y/N sitting upright and looking at the view out the window.

"Y/N?" Kano called out her name and she turned around.

"Kano!" She smiled widly and opened her arms, inviting Kano into a hug.

Kano smiled back and walked into her arms.

"I'm glad it went well, Y/N."

"I'm glad as well. Can we visit (fav/place) once I'm out?" Y/N asked giggling a bit.

"Anything you want, Y/N. I love you." Kano leaned in for a kiss on the lips and Y/N accepted it.

Their silhouette reflected on the window of the door and some nurses squealed as they saw how lovely they were together.
