Backstory: Ever since he was a baby bought as an egg in a pet store, Abelino has been used in a traveling exotic animal show that was not the nicest to its animals behind the scenes. From this experience he was abused, ridiculed, and shamed. The quiet side of his personality came about from being told to never make a sound outside of shows because if he made so as much as a squawk, he would not get flight time. He was kept in a dark, damp, and loud back room with other animals. But one day while doing a performance in São Paulo in front of school children, he made a daring escape and flew away. The owners of the side show could not find him, shortly going bankrupt, being arrested for smuggling and animal abuse after their star bird flew away.
