The man that was next to me while I slept, I do not remember ever meeting him. Not noticing that I was home made me feel scared, uncertain of what just happened in my dreams. I was still standing in front of the mirror, looking at my body realizing that a point in time that I was at one time, pregnant. The man walked up behind me and put his arms around me gently, kissed me on my face cheek; I couldn’t help but smile and put my hands on his.
“Good evening, beautiful. Why did you get up?” he said almost seemingly that he was concerned and confused.
I said, “I had a strange dream. I…” I paused to think about it. “I can’t remember it much but it had a lot of fighting and death within it. As if I was in a middle of a large terrible war and there were other things that can not be explained. It all seemed so real...”
He hesitated for a slight moment. “Hmm, that’s very strange indeed. Looks like its still raining, we better eat sometime soon or otherwise we’ll starve." He said jokingly then let go of me even though I wanted something from him but I didn’t know what I wanted. I followed him into the kitchen and he lit some candles and put on a fire in the chimney in the living room to keep us warm. I walked over to a window and I could see the setting sun slowly going into the ground of the horizon. The rain was settling and it became a light shower.
About two hours later, we had dinner and after eating, I got up to wash my plate off and I walked into the living room next to the fire and sat down. The man came up to me and said,”What’s wrong, Crim?” I looked at him and tilted my head to the left side. In my head, I thought what my name was. I couldn’t remember anything. What does he mean calling me Crim? Is that part of my name?
I played it off as if it were a bad joke being told. “It’s nothing, my dream is just the thing stuck in my mind. I remember so much but so little at the same time... " he could tell I was very perplexed. "I don’t want to sound weird or even silly, but what is your name as well as mine?" I stared into the calm flame and dancing embers as I said it. He chuckled in amusement, sat down right next to me, he turned my head to face him and he kissed me softly with passion on my lips. After a few seconds after kissing me, he looked me in the eyes and I smiled a small smile and I asked again. “What is my name? What is your name? I can’t seem to remember anything just like if you had amnesia or something.”
He answered, “Your name is Lulu Shartai, and everyone calls you Crimson because you love the color and when you get really angry, your eyes turn into a deep red like crimson or blood. My name is Vincent K’rai. I work as a clerk at a jewelry store, my age is 28, born on December 14, 4073."
I got up and walked over to the window. I stood there looking out the window, Vincent walked over to me and grabbed my hands and started pulling me to the bedroom. I got into bed, covered myself with the blankets, and laid on my right side facing towards Vincent. He did the same, grabbed my hand, and held it. He moved closer to me and kissed me one more time before i fell into a deep sleep. I did not know if i loved him as he does for me. It felt good to loved someone else, always held by him, his kisses made me want to curl up and squeak, he made feel wanted but i was not sure about something. I didn't know what it was, but i didn't trust him, I didn't love him but only a little if that much. I didn't remember who I was, who he was, or even what happened to me as a child. I actually liked my name, Lulu... I liked my nickname Crimson a bit better than my original name because it sounded frightening or very fierce.
I did not dream this time but in the morning when I woke up from my slumber, I found myself close to his body and both of us lying on our left side, he was still holding my hand with his arm on my side. The air smelled of roses with pleasing aromas from the outside. His hand tightened on mine and he sat up on his free arm and I looked up at him, he smiled, I smiled, and we kissed each other for a while. The sun was radiating through the white curtains and illuminating the room in a soothing color and both of our mornings started nice. I could not see it for other people but ours seemed to so perfect it made me laugh in disgust and amusement.
