Ethan walked around the room as he prepared himself for the day to come. He made sure he had everything he needed before grabbing the blue tie that sat on his bed. Standing in front of the mirror, Ethan adjusted his collar as he placed the tie around his neck. Although he quickly grew once he realized he had no idea how to tie a tie.

Grayson was the one who was good at this sort of thing. Whenever the boys had dances or ceremonies, Grayson was the one who picked out the outfits. He had always helped Ethan get ready. After a few attempts Ethan threw the blue tie across the room in a fit of anger.

The dark haired boy sat on the edge of the bed as his eyes peered into the hardwood floor. Tears pricked his eyes as he looked around the room, Grayson's room. Everything was the same way he had left it. His bed unmade. His school bag in the corner. Ethan grabbed the blue blanket from the bed and held it to his face. He took in his brother's scent and momentarily found comfort. Hiding his face in the blanket, Ethan let out a piercing scream as he fell back onto the bed.

Refusing to drive with any of his family members, Ethan eventually managed the courage to get up and leave the house. He made his way to his car and began driving down the street as he turned the radio on. The entire drive Ethan convinced himself that things would be okay. Grayson was hurting, but now he was in a better place. Although no matter how many times the words came out of his mouth, he couldn't force himself to believe it.

Ethan pulled into the parking lot of the funeral home as the opening notes of 'Wonderwall’ escaped the radio and filled the small car. His eyes glanced to the dash as they began to fill with tears. He hastily turned the car off as he slammed the door shut behind him. Following the signs, Ethan directed himself into the right hallway as he made his way directly to the front of the designated room. He stood in front of the casket, ignoring everything around him as his eyes focused on his twin brother. He could feel his heartbeat rising with every second that passed.

Everyone in the room noticed his presence as they shuffled to their own spots to give him space. Jack sat quietly in his seat as he gave a nod of acknowledgement to Ethan. Jack was at a loss for words the past two weeks. He had lost one of his friends. Sure him and Grayson weren't the best of friends, but they cared about each other. They loved each other. To top it off, his best friend was hurting more than he ever had before, yet he didn't know how to help him. As far as he was concerned, there was nothing he could do to help Ethan because he couldn't bring Grayson back.

Cameron slowly walked towards her younger brother and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek. Her arms wrapped around his body as she looked down at the open casket. “We're sitting in the first row, the one right behind you. I love you, kid, more than anything,” She smiled as she too her own seat, knowing that Ethan needed a second alone with their brother.

Ethan took a deep breath as his hand shakily reached into his pocket to grab a small piece of folded up paper. He stepped closer to the casket as his right hand took hold of his brother's. His left hand tightly held onto the paper as he quietly read it out loud to the man he loved.

“Dear Grayson,

I love you.

I know I wasn't the best at showing it, but I have always loved you more than I should. Ive always loved you in ways that I shouldn't.

I'm sorry for all those times I hurt you. You didn't deserve any of it.

You deserved to grow up and get married and have a family. You should have lived the perfect life because that is what you deserve.

I didn't deserve you, Grayson, but I am so glad that I was blessed with you.

Love, Ethan."

He was now sobbing as his hands struggled to fold the paper back up before placing it in Grayson's suit pocket. Ethan leaned down, pressing his lips against his brother's temple as he left a gentle kiss. He loved his brother and that would never change.
