when everyone arrives in the evening Gabriela was sober again a little more contented than use to with a look of happiness, Rena guess last night must have done justice for she was walking around with her chest buffed and tail held high, she had dinner prepare and they all eat, soon after putting her daughter to bed she went off as well complaining of tiredness,
Tuesday morning while getting ready for work for the first time Gabriela knowtist the neatly wrapped content on her dresser next to the near empty bottle of wine,it said happy mother's day she wasn't sure how it got there but since it was on her dresser she figure it must be hers Rena wouldn't kept it there without letting her know but to think of it she didn't kept anything in her room, she torn the paper to see a small velvet box when she open it she saw the pair of earrings and bangles Steven had purchase from the shop "but why these he must of bought for his wife, didn't she like them" Gabriela wonder a loud" thinking, maybe she refused so he gave her its been a few weeks since he came to the shop seeking to buy jewelry he let her try them before buying with a smile she figure it put he must had gotten them  for her but was waiting for the right time, she was definitely going to get him something for father's day, she still can't believe he spend mother's day with her and not his wife, swearing that she didn't really want him to do that if she had known he was coming she would have told him not to, but she was over joyed to have him they have sex twice and after that she wasn't sure what happened, but even now the sweet feeling between her thighs indicated that she had nothing but fun. she got dress wearing her earrings and bangles and a flair tail mini summer top dress that she hasn't in a long time then let down her hair,
"Is that you Gabriela?" Rena ask when Gabriela step in the kitchen and everyone else turn to look her way,
"Good morning Gabriela I need not ask how you are for just look at you" Rena said
"Good morning everyone" Gabriela said coming to kiss her daughter before taking her seat,
"I thought since you made dinner I should at leas make breakfast, here you go" Rena said, setting a dish of well brown pancakes with butter and strawberry syrup pour over it,
"Thank you" she said
Soon as they were done eating the car honk at the gate Gabriela believe it was Selena here to drop stevia at school, but after readying her and went out Steven was waiting by the car with open arms as stevia ran to him, he wave to Gabriela parents her brother and sister in law soon as they step out on the porch,
"Need a lift miss Simmons?" He ask "I'm dropping the children to school"
Gabriela accept and go with sitting with Adam in the back seat she was a wear of how much Steven  was watching her wishing that she wasn't that dressed up if she had known she would see him wondering how he manage to made it home before they leave,
"So how are you so early home from work Chief Scott?"Gabriela ask
Steven smile but didn't answer he was driving her to work after leaving off the children at school,
" Gabriela I was hoping to come catch up to you just turning so I could catch your morning beauty, obviously I was late"
Gabriela look at him and they made eye contact her body shiver and shake from emotions that she couldn't console that she give in to him when he pulled off the road on to the side walk and kiss her,
"Since the other night you look different" Steven tease when start driving again
Gabriela shook him letting him know it wasn't like that but apart of her felt different and feel it was because of the sex too, after looking in the mirror this morning she saw a new and more vitalize Gabriela Sunday night with Steven has her fired up with sweet memories that still lingers between her thighs along with a image of his handsome face in her mind and his dazzling grey eyes as they sparked with emotions. "You know Gabriela you can take the day off and come hang with me I still have a few more hours before work" she bite on her lips before she could respond for she would love to do that but she was going to take a rain check,
"I have to go thanks again for the ride" she reach a hand to touch his cheek leaning to kiss him, surprising herself that she did that Steven smile as he watch her get out the car,
"Hey" Valerie said meeting Gabriela at the door
Gabriela turn to see if Steven was still park out but his car was gone she wonder if Valerie saw when she came from his car she turn to see her smiling, "Gabriela you look frighten what happened?"
She shook her head"nothing "she force a smile, " hi" she said
"I was looking for you to tell you that my family is having a cookout at our place on labor day you and your family should definitely come"
"Me, my family, oh yeah we'll definitely come" she said with a laugh, breathing a sigh of relieve, walking by Valerie who smile to herself knowing that Gabriela was worried that she might had seen Steven dropping her off,
Gabriela was busy Tuesday afternoon with customers, she was assisting a lady when she look up she saw Sophie in the store she was just walking around at the time she wasn't asking for assistance and no one offer Gabriela thought since her husband own the place she was just there to observe, she knowtist she look her way many times, Gabriela suddenly remember the earrings and bangles she wore that she got from Steven for mother's day the same set he purchase for his wife wondering if she will say anything seeing her in them, she was sure Steven haven't worked up the courage and  told her about the daughter they have together thinking he might never tell her pumpkin is his little girl wondering if he had told Adam, he enjoy playing with stevia a lot but she didn't know if it is because he knew she's his sister or because he didn't have anyone to play with, apart of her didn't believe he did,
She could only tell Rena about her relationship with Steven, for Rena made it hard to keep anything from her she wonder if Raymond find out he have not said anything maybe Rena didn't tell him but Steven had said it out in front of him that he's her father, she's scared her family will find out she got pregnant in collage for a man with a family, stevia had called Steven daddy in front of every one, Selena as let it be known that the night Steven found her she called him that she knew they didn't take that for much for three years stevia grew up in their presence and no one ever saw anyone came looking for her that they could say is her father, now Steven came giving her so much attention that she's calling him father, she was glad they didn't said anything about it to her, as she was glad to watch Sophie leave after awhile without coming her way,
Labour day was here quicker than expected it was the cookout at Valerie and her family place Gabriela was before having second thoughts about going but Raymond and both her parents agreed to it and because Rena said they should definitely go, they all went,
Gabriela and Rena  were sitting  together with some of the other ladies in their age group joy and Sophie were the only two person there that Gabriela weren't seeing for the first time, apart from her
sister in-law,
She watch as Steven dragged his young brother Drew in a corner  of  the living room whispering something to him Drew was smiling but Steven wasn't joy husband Dave came in with a tray of strong liquor but they all  refused, asking for soft drink,
"No one wants any?" Sophie ask after taking a glass off the tray, "OK then I'll have another, Dave stop come back here" she said taking another, "never let such good stuff go to waste" she smile and held her glass up,
"Aren't you afraid of getting drunk?" One of the ladies ask
"Drunk is part of my life I like getting drunk its all my husband left me t do anyway,
Plus I enjoy drinking" Sophie said taking another sip,
"What do you mean by getting drunk is all your husband leave you to do?" One of them ask
"If he wasn't away so often and spend sometime having a little fun with me, Its the time he doesn't give me leaving me alone at all times I have to have something to entertain me,
" I'm sure he must share a drink or two with you"
"Steven don't really drink is job is too important to him for him to its like firemen don't know how to have fun" Sophie complain,  things were so good between us but still he went out to get involved with some tramp all he does now is bored me",
"Steven isn't the type of guy to bore anyone, he seems so romantic, Sophie just because he refused to get drunk doesn't mean he's not romantic"
"Romantic, when we don't do nothing together, he doesn't even take me places"
"Who complain about going out having a man like Steven in your bed, when a man gave you good sex can't you make love all night instead of going out?"
Joy laugh turning to look at her friend,
"That wasn't a problem when we were having sex for it was good, thought it seems the only reason there was to it was so he could go to sleep a little faster than usual when he came home tired from work, that one round of sex was just to put him to bed then he'll just sleeps through the rest of night"
Gabriela saw from the corner of her eyes when Rena looks at her wondering what he was thinking,
"When ever he falls a sleep you should wake him up" the girl continue to say,
"Don't you think I've try that many times" Sophie hissed
"So you and brother don't have sex anymore?" Joy ask
"He doesn't fine the time when he came home from his tramp he's too tired to look at me"
"Just maybe he's getting it better somewhere else someone who makes him feels comfortable,
Sophie shot her a hard look, then turn to look at Gabriela who  turn and looked at her, having the feeling she was talking about her calling her a tramp,
" ignore her Sophie " joy said
"Why should I ignore her the truth is right there I don't think Steven ever loves me" Sophie said for a while looking out in space,
" since that day he brought that little boy Adam home things started falling apart"
"What do you mean?" A girl who was introduce to Gabriela and Rena as Steven cousin ask Sophie,
"Don't blame Adam for nothing" joy said "Adam is just a child, mom had said some years back that you should never married Steven for the two of you didn't belong together"
Sophie take two drink from her glass before saying anything,
"Because I haven't become a mother he's against me for that all he needs is someone to born his child and not a wife, so everyone in this family knew I can't have children so each time Steven bring home a child the family just accept it no one consider my feelings"
"A child is a child Sophie" joy said "and if it's his child you know the family is going to play their part, and you can get pregnant you just don't want to"
Gabriela didn't know that Sophie wasn't Adams mother she have no idea that he got Adam with another woman,
"So many kids are you talking about?" The girl ask
"Steven got a daughter, she's almost four now" joy said
"Really?" A few of them ask in surprise,
"You probably saw her ran through a few times" joy said turning to point in the direction where stevia came from calling mommy, everyone turn open mouth towards Gabriela when her little girl came to sit on her,
"Meet my niece" joy said "this is Steven's daughter Stevia"
"She's real pretty" one of them said and the other's agreed
"Just look at her eyes" another said,
Sophie twitch her nose and rolled her eyes, taking another drink,
"You're a brave woman mother of Steven daughter, one of the girls said, turning to look at Gabriela, " I didn't catch your name"
"Probably because she didn't throw it" joy said, "her name is Gabriela"
"You give love so deeply to a married man and was able to have him such a pretty daughter"
"Who has the attention now?" One of them ask teasingly, and they laugh
" why I've known Steven all my life and he strike me as a man who's faithfully devoted to his wife, and all my years of trying just went up in flames, he's a fireman for god sakes and he never once try to put out those flames, and this girl came out of no where and gave him a daughter, are you sure he's her father?" she ask, looking at Stevia, Gabriela gave her a look one that joy didn't miss,
"then to think of it she has his eyes I don't really see eyes like those on human"
Joy laugh, "please don't say anything more if you had seen the look Gabriela gave you you would shut up about it" the girl laugh facing Gabriela I'm just being funny don't feel bad" turning to face Sophie who was saying something, "Steven treats me like an outsider"
"He may not take you out or do you have sex any more but you still are there with him I'm sure he doesn't treat you like an outsider" joy said
"I'm sure he appreciate you being there especially to help care for Adam, he must of cherished you on mothers day" another of joy cousins said
"On the weekend of mother's day Steven was only happy to escorted me off to my mother place on mother's day he didn't even call to say tell your mother happy mother's day, I spend the whole weekend on Tuesday when I got home he didn't even ask how I spend the weekend or how i was doing"
"I'm sure he spend mother's day with aunt, right joy"
"Well he was here" joy said "he stayed for dinner for his daughter was here she spend the night but he didn't" Gabriela didn't look but a wear they looked at her
"So Adam spend the night with his mother?" Someone else ask
"Adams mother died after birth" joy told them,"that's all he told us about his mother "
"Maybe the family should never had encourage him to keep that little boy home that little boy ruined our marriage, when we should be spending time with me he was  making it for Adam, I live in a house where I'm not comfortable no one respects me even the maid acts as though she's the one Steven married she does anything and she doesn't listen to anything I say Adam gets to do what ever he wants"
"Who's letting Adam do what ever he wants?" Steven ask as he came around carrying a tray of ice tea, "Dave had said you ladies need juice" he said taking one to hand it to Gabriela then rest the trey on the coffee table his cousin look with her mouth half open and half curve in a smile,
"Am I not here?" Sophie ask "aren't you going to pass one to me, or even ask if I want a drink? Anyway I'm already drinking don't worry about me" Sophie said raising her empty  Glass and the glass that was close to empty, "you don't have to act like you care anyway"
"What's your problem?" Steven ask
"I'm living with it" Sophie snapped
"No one is telling you to live with any problem, I'm living with the problem too one much bigger than yours and you don't hear me complaining"
"I know I'm your problem Steven but when time is right I'll leave, maybe then you'll knowtist,
" you talk about leaving so dammed often by now you should be long gone, in your case who needs to wait on the right time,
"What's going on?" Dave ask when he and Drew came to find out what was keeping Steven,
"Nothing I was just on my way back"
"Nothing?" Sophie ask jumping off the coach "every time you said its nothing how can you keep ignoring the problem and keep on saying its nothing"
Steven shook his head, "its either you are drunk or crazy but something isn't right with you"
"Don't do this now" Drew said pulling him away, Sophie take back her seat hissing as she crossed her legs turning her back to Steven and start shaking, he left with Drew and Dave holding on to him as they lead him away as if taking him from a battle field, he looked over his shoulder to see Gabriela looking at him
Gabriela was surprised to know that Stevia wasn't the only one Steven got while married to Sophie she did believe Adam was both their child its a wonder she never saw Adam with her, she thought the relationship with her was his first time cheating on his wife, he said he really love her but who knows if he has someone else pregnant someone he'll ran in to sometimes down the road, for he had made her believed that he love her, joy look at Gabriela sitting quietly with a blank expression on her face wondering what was going through her head,
Sophie and Steven were use to this arguing it's been going on as long as joy can remember even before Adam came in the picture she still can't for get that her mother disagreed with the wedding but Steven wanted to get married he was a firefighter who was scared that his life would ended quickly and he wouldn't get the chance to marry anyone, when Steven came in Gabriela lift her head and they look right at each other, when she look Sophie way she was still huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf in the three little pigs story, Steven was handing soups to everyone but before he could offer any to Sophie she snapped
"I don't want any you don't have to offer it to me give it to everyone else I don't care"
"What's going on why you yelling Sophie is something the matter?" Steven mother ask
"Steven and his wife was having an argument" joy told her,
"In my house?" She ask turning to look at them both "my home is my comfort my husband and I don't fight for no reason at all Drew and his wife live here too and they dears not argue in my house, this is not some battle field for the both of you, until you get home at least act like you're at a family gathering, and for god sake boy treat your wife with some respect, didn't your father and I taught you anything, women aren't to be mistreated, she didn't have your child but she help to take care of your child"
"What are you saying mother?" Steven ask
By now more people started gathering in the living room to see what was happening,
"Sophie didn't do nothing of such, Sophie might look at Adam mother but its only when she is telling him that he's in her way and his boundaries Adam is not allowed to sit in the living room while Sophie is there she can't eat at the table if Adam is there, for eight years Adam live under the same roof with Sophie and he never gotten the Chance to touch her all he wanted was to feel close to her but she never let him near her, the little boy became so scared of her that seeing her have him shaking, she's always uncomfortable around him so it's either she's sending him to his room or to go outside, that's how Sophie treats Adam mother,our living room at home is twice the size of this one and Sophie find it hard to have Adam sits in there when she's sitting there is that the way someone take care of a child, for if it is I don't want to see when they don't",
Sophie hang her head when Steven mother looked at her,
" so what if I don't get the hang of it to love and care for him are you going to make me do something I don't want to do he's your child I didn't send you to get him why should I bare the burdens?"
"Honestly Sophie, I don't think you get the hang of doing nothing but to be selfish, I don't don't think you'll ever love and care for anyone but yourself, sometimes I believe that you have no love or care for yourself"
"I know you hates me Steven, but don't worry I'll leave you soon" Sophie said
"I kept asking you dammit when the hell is soon for now wouldn't be soon enough for me to see you leave"
"Steven!" Both his mother and joy called to him
"Calm down man" Drew told him,
"I bet you're going to miss me when I'm gone"
"You can bet your life Sophie I won't give a shit, by the way Sophie Adam isn't really my child I just gave him my name"
"What?" Joy ask turning to see the face of her mother and to Drew who speak"
"Are you really serious bro?" Drew ask
"Adam's dad died while putting out a fire we work side by side, before he died he asked of me to take care of his wife and child but his wife too was going through some difficult times with her pregnancy, but she wouldn't let doctor terminate the pregnancy, doctor monitor her all through it hoping that they could operate but she died after giving birth if I didn't say I was the father then they would place him in foster home and I didn't want that to happened, now he's my son and I love him same way like I love my daughter" Gabriela look up at him then up at his parents and at joy who was standing there still struggling to come to tern with what she just heard,
"Mommy!" Stevia stream running inside the living room ahead of Adam who was chasing her she ran to Steven who pick her up lifting her high that Adam wouldn't be able to catch her after trying a few times he gave up for he was  feeling tired too walking over to take refuge on Gabriela's lap taking her hands  wrapping them around him, everyone looked around on each other,
By now the argument between Sophie and Steven had quiet down, though they were still in shock about what Steven told them no one was saying anything for Adam was inside the room, and Steven was giving Stevia most of his attention,
"Were you worried about her eyes when she was born Gabriela one of Steven cousin by his aunt side ask
" not really but doctor had send her to the option a few times saying there might be something wrong with her eyes until they told me her vision is much clearer than mine "
"I went through that with Steven when he was a baby" Steven mother said Gabriela look at him and again they made eye contact,
"She has her father's eyes but  look just like her mother" joy said
"And she's very pretty I can see that she makes a happy father, a man sometimes love when their daughter look like their mother" the cousin went on to say "They get the chance to see what they have miss when she was growing up"
Joy laugh "my husband  loves to say that at all times"
"And it puts a great smile on your face right?" Rena ask joy laugh hugging Rena at her shoulders, "I blushes"
Sophie got up storming out the room more angry now than before slamming the door behind her that everyone inside the living room held their ear's
"Let her go" Steven said setting Stevia to her feet before taking off to the kitchen,Stevia squeal she wants to go to the bath room and joy point Gabriela the way and Adam went along
"So miss Gabriela is the one Steven is in love with I couldn't blame him anyway and it seems Adam is funded of her too" Steven cousin said
"I'm sure it's because she treats him alright a child can tell when someone cares for if Adam didn't know she cares he would not get close to her"
Joy friend said
"I still can't believe Adam isn't brother's real child" joy said
"Keep it down" Valerie said
"Would you had love him any less if you had known before will you love him any less now?" Valerie ask
Joy shook her head "no as far as I'm concerned he's still my nephew"
"So does Gabriela and Steven still has a relationship?" One ask
"Rena would be the best person to ask" Valerie said for they live together
Rena didn't wish to say anything 
"He claims to be in love with her still" joy said and from the look in her eyes she's still in love with him, Steven had wanted Sophie to leave before but I can see now how badly he wants it now "
joy cousin laugh,
"No, its true, I'm a married counselor I know these things Steven is having a hard time living with Sophie but with everything he'll never tell her to leave still he's hoping that she'll hurry and do so, each time she mentioned leaving he push it" joy was about to speak again but Gabriela came back and Steven came out the kitchen carrying food to be serve, he was finished and came to join them
"Oh that sure smells good" Steven said
"What's that bro?" Drew ask
"The sent of peace"
"That's you dream right?" Dave ask
"That's something that don't come easy living with Sophie so I'll take it now that she's gone"
"So you know she'll be home waiting on you with a gun" joy said"no sleep for you tonight "
"Don't worry about that ten years living in the same house with Sophie taught me to walk through fire Sophie can't do nothing to keep me awake if I don't want to be kept awake"
"By the looks of it Steven you are not trying to make your marriage work" his cousin said
"It would make no sense now" Steven said he was interested in making it work that was before meeting Gabriela now all he want is to be next to her,
One of the family members came around with drinks Steven took one off the tray and drank from it,
"But in law" Dave said "I through you wanted gin"
"Gin? No bro I've work in the morning"
"Oh yeah sorry man I forgot you don't really drink much, here have another glass of  this" , Steven take it after emptying the first glass handing it to Dave,
With Sophie gone the rest of day went smooth they have themselves a wonderful time Gabriela had made offer to help with the cleaning up and Rena help  too while Raymond hang with the guys as they put the outside back in place,
"Listen up people" Steven said  "I thank you all for such a wonderful day but i should leave you all now, work in the morning, come Adam we must go" Steven shout and Adam came running holding on to Stevia as his nieces and nephews came to bid them good bye,
"Are you riding with me and my dad?" Adam asked holding on to Gabriela, its just me and dad if you don't come,
"I'm already getting a ride with my brother" Gabriela told him
"As Adam had said its just us me and him and I'm sure pumpkin wants to ride with me" he said picking her up, "is that so pumpkin?"
"Pumpkin?" Another family member ask "you name your daughter pumpkin, couldn't you have name her after you Stevia perhaps?" Joy bounce her and she covered her mouth she didn't want her brother to know she's been spreading it around, Steven look at joy then back to their cousin "its just a pet name her mother gave her, what's wrong with pumpkin anyway?" He walk away carrying Stevia off
"Her name is Stevia" joy confirm it when Steven was no longer in the room,
"Thanks for inviting us" Gabriela said when Valerie came to see them off,
"Thank you and your family for coming" Valerie said giving Gabriela a hug and a kiss
"It was nice having you Gabriela" joy said hugging her, "thank you all" she said turning to Gabriela parents Raymond Rena and the children,
They said their goodbyes, part ways Gabriela had accepted the ride with Steven she sat up front with Steven on her lap, half way home Stevia fall a sleep Steven had the believe Adam did too for he was quiet most the journey, but on pulling to a stop at Gabriela's gate he turned and saw that his eyes was wide open wanting to kiss Gabriela he reach around to covered his eyes with one hand when the kiss was over he removed his hand from Adam's face leaving him wondering what he did that for, he smile and wave at Gabriela as she bid him goodbye,
Steven wait for her to close the door behind her before he drove away he was just about to turn the corner when he saw Raymond car turn in their yard,
By they were to walk in Gabriela was done getting Stevia to bed, her youngest nephew had fallen asleep and was been carried off to bed while the others were almost asleep, Gabriela help Rena fix them and get them to bed, they both join Raymond, Martha and Kenneth, in the living room where they talk for a while before Gabriela started yarning and stretching, herself, she got up saying goodnight leaving the others there,
Shortly after a shower she went to bed and it didn't took her long to fall a sleep,
Steven walk in to his bed room after Adam finally falls asleep, the last thing he wants to do right now is coming encounter with Sophie, he went to the bathroom to take a shower after coming from the bathroom Steven knowtist the pillow on his side of bed, he believe Sophie was asleep so he to the pillow up where he could lay down,
"Don't you lay there" Sophie sprang up "you and I won't share this bed tonight"
"What!" Steven said surprisingly, "you're telling me I can't sleep in my own bed, do you have any idea how hard I've worked to buy this bed, have you work a day in your life do you know what working is like? OK Sophie you won for tonight, I have work in the morning I won't tired myself arguing with you tonight, but in the morning you better put yourself together for I'm not putting up with you and your shitting attitude" Steven turn to leave the room,
"Are you leaving?" Sophie ask he throw the pillow back on to the bed walking put the door,
"Steven wait I want to talk with you" she called out but he didn't stop the front door slammed  and Sophie knew he left to stay the night with Gabriela,
The soft knock on the door woke Gabriela, getting Raymond and Rena out of bed, they were on the stairs when Gabriela came to  open the door, they didn't hear who the person said was at the door when she ask who it was until she open it and they hear Steven spoke,
"What happened Steven why are you here, do yo have any idea what time it is?"
"My wife throw me out of my bed room" Steven said
"But she didn't throw you out the house, you live in a big house"
"Yes but I'm not use to sleeping alone"
"Adam is there"
"Adam? Is bed is small I was hoping to share your bed"
Raymond and Rena looked at each other
"I'm already sharing my bed with pumpkin"
"I really don't mine Gabriela so are you going to let me in, I do have to get some sleep, besides its cold out here, remember I'm a fireman, I don't work at the north pole"
Gabriela couldn't help the smile that splayed across her lips soon as she stepped aside and let him he kiss them and her smile was replace with trembling needs that only he would be allow to fulfill he dragged her off to her room and after two round of great sex they lay on a blanket on the floor, "we keep doing this, it's going to make your wife a lot more angry than she's now"
"Gabriela I'm in love with you nothing I can do to change that its just the way I feel"

Gabriela smile nod her head, she really enjoy being with him but how can she tells he won't break her heart she want to say he's a no good for cheating on his wife and he might do the same if they ended up married,

"Yes he's a great boy, I can't believe he's not your child, you show each other so much love" Gabriela smile
"Gabriela his dad was like a brother how could I leave him to grow up in a home",
" you did the right thing I'm sure they both are glad now their son is happy and now he even has a sister "
They both laugh "I'm sorry Steven for taking off without telling you I was pregnant I thought that since you already has a family it was better to care for Stevia by myself"

Gabriela look at him with a smile"I know, it happened anyway but here we're with a second Chance "
"I see how you care for him although you knew I was his father and the fact that I wasn't there for your daughter"
It wasn't adman fault he's a child"

"Hated you you said it like its in the past, Hate isn't near as strong to describe the way I feel"
Steven laugh kiss her his hand fall between her legs as he search the floor for a condom to use,
"You act a total different person from the one your wife describe who don't have sex more than once for the night we did it three times already" Gabriela said when Steven had his climax and lay on her back his fingers lace in hers as they both hang tightly to the blanket they lay so comfortable on,
"I must tell you Steven the sex is always fun keep doing it this well and I will lay any place for you" Steven laugh, Gabriela watch him got up and believe it was to leave but he take her hand leading to the bathroom they shower and came to the bed to lay with their daughter,
Stevia woke up in the middle of them both they were near sleep when she squeal "mommy!, daddy!" she said excitingly they both open their eyes to look at her Gabriela eyes burnt from the need of sleep covered her head with the pillow, she mumbled "go back to sleep honey"
"But mommy I have already sleep" Stevia said Steven smile kissing her cheeks taking her in his arms and lay talking with her,
"I thought you were going to sleep since you have work, send her back to sleep" Gabriela said to Steven, but sleep wouldn't come again even if he force it,
"You go to sleep Gabriela I'll just lay with her for a while"
"With such need for sleep Gabriela went to sleep leaving them, she woke up  a hour and forty five minutes later to find an empty bed, Steven had left and Stevia voice was heard with the others in the kitchen,
After brushing her teeth Gabriela went to the kitchen,
"Good morning" Gabriela said entering the kitchen Rena and Raymond turn to look her way,
"Morning aunt" the boys said
She ile at them rubbing their head and kissing their cheek,
She walk to where her brother was standing over by the stove to help herself to some hot milk to make her cereal, smiling at him and pinching his cheek,
"You look awfully happy something I should know" Raymond said Rena turn to look at them both, she had finally told Raymond the whole truth about Steven being the father of his niece, he was wondering why his sister didn't tell them the truth before not that it matters now he was glad to know he was being a father to pumpkin now that he has the chance he came to realize why he was so upset when she went missing and no one knew where she was, "what are you saying brother, I'm always happy"
"My daddy is here now" Stevia said and was about to climb from her chair they could tell from Steven entered into the living room from his perfume, it got stronger as he came in the kitchen "Good morning" he said coming to stand over Stevia she lift her head to look up at him he bend and kiss her mouth all covered in chocolate cereal, she giggle, he took her spoon and take cereal from her plate"
Breakfast for you Steven? " Rena ask
"No, thank you, but I already had something to eat" he told Rena turning to face Gabriela, handing her is work shirt, "can you please?"
Gabriela nod taking it from his hand, she was done with it when he came out with Stevia in his hand,
"She'll have to get clean up" Steven said
"I'll take her, here take this" Gabriela hand him his shirt taking Stevia to the room  with Steven behind, resting  his shirt over the back of the chair then lay on her bed waiting for her to come back she was done dressing her when Selena came to get her to take her to the house, Raymond leave ahead of Rena and the children and shortly after that her parents left, leaving Gabriela and Steven alone in the house,thought they were a lone Gabriela turn her door to go to the bathroom but Steven closed it completely taking Gabriela in his arms she look up at him, he kissing her,
"What are you doing?"
"Making love to you"
"But aren't you going to be late for work?" Gabriela ask
"I don't care let me be late I want you" Steven whispered
"And it has to be now?"
"Yeah right now"
"I was going to take a shower"
"Then let's take it together"
"I'm going to be late" Gabriela trembling voice said holding on to Steven as he lift her off to the bathroom, they made love took a shower he then dropped her at work before going off to his later than he was expecting to be,
"So Steven keep spending more and more nights I've knowtist" Rena said to Gabriela when they were together in the kitchen, after the children were all in bed and they were cleaning up,
"I've never ask him to come Rena" Gabriela said
"Yes that's true but you've never told him to leave"
"I've try that"
"He's still married isn't it"
"I supposed"
"Aren't you the same girl who didn't want a married man that you find it hard to say that a married man is attractive"
"It was Steven you spoke of I didn't want to talk about him for I didn't want to tell you Rena that he was my boyfriend before I learn he was married, I was in loved with him he was the first man I felt so about its hard to let go",
Rena looked at Gabriela " if you still love him gabs there is no shame in that, for I can see how much he loves you"
"Gabriela believe that Steven is really in love with her she felt it in his touches, she didn't want to come between him and his wife but it didn't seems they have any attachments for his marriage with Sophie is bad and the son she though they both had wasn't neither of them child, she turn to face her sister in-law and with tears flowing down her cheeks " I never will be able to love another man the way I love Steven "
"Love isn't a crime Gabriela"
They both smile,
"What's up with you two?" Raymond ask
Gabriela wiped her tears she didn't want her brother to see that she's been crying,
"You two not feeling the breeze that's blowing?" He ask
"Are you cold darling?" Rena ask wrapping her arms around him giving him a kiss,
"Don't mine me" Gabriela said when she heard them giggled and turned around they were going out the door cuddling, it wasn't long after she finish and went to bed her bed,
"Steven I really would like to talk with you" Sophie said when Steven came through the door she was in the living room so he sat facing her he knowtist  Adam wasn't anywhere to be seen thinking to go find him after he was done listening to what Sophie has to say
"Sir" Selena said emerge from the kitchen, "should I bring you anything?" She ask
"No!" Sophie shouted "can't you show a little respect, go away he'll come when he's done talking"
Adam came in the living room but no on knowtist that he did,
"Go on Selena I'll cone later " Steven said Selena back her way in the kitchen with out another word,
"Sophie what is it you want to say?"
"Its about Adam" Sophie said 
"Shhhh" she rest a finger on her lips, when Steven open his mouth to say something, "let me just say what I'm going to say,
"Since Adam isn't your real son  we should put him in a home let him get adopted"
Adam couldn't believe what Sophie had said but how could Steven not be his dad he wonder if he's not his father who is, he worried that he would be put to live else were, confused he didn't know what to do he couldn't run to Selena for his Steven and Sophie will see him using the back door he ran from the house heading to Gabriela home.
"Sir have you seen Adam? He's not in his room" Selena ask Steven after checking in Adam's room,
"He must be in the games room" Steven said "I'm yet to see him" he was still listening to Sophie talking nonsense, "if you had explain to me that the boy wasn't your child things would have been different we could have work out our marriage he would be put in a home, then that little girl that bitch is forcing on you you can always pay her money so her  mother doesn't take you to court, you don't even have to see them we can start over"
"Say what!" Steven said slammed down on the center table, before springing to his feet,"you, are you saying I'm to abundant my kids are you crazy woman, are you out of your seances? "
"But if you do that we can work things out" Sophie told him,
"Didn't accrue to you that I don't want to work things out?"
"Sir" Selena came back to the living room after getting the call from Gabriela that Adam was at her home she call soon as he came to the door,
"Miss Gabriela call to  say that your son is at her house" Selena told  Steven
Surprised that Adam would leave the house with out anyone knowing,
"But how did he leave like that at this hour?" He look at his watch to find nine already gone it was going on ten,
"I'll go get him" he said taking his car keys,
"Steven" Sophie called I wasn't done talking to you"
"But I'm done talking to you" he walk away Sophie scream turning to see Selena looking at her, "what the hell are you looking at woman, it was you right, you talk that boy in to leaving the house for you know my husband would go after him he's gone now, you must be so happy, for even though that boy doesn't belong to my husband he still get his way with him he's not his father why can't he just come to his sense and throw him out" she hiss growled and screamed half walking half running out the living room few minutes later slamming the door to the dressing room behind her, Selena didn't understand what Sophie menthe by Adam wasn't Steven son but couldn't ask her and he wasn't there puzzled she enter the kitchen where she seat herself down and it was all she could think about.
Gabriela couldn't believe Sophie to be so heartless that she would think to ask Steven to put Adam out the house to think he should abundant the little boy he consider his son how could someone be so cold, he sat with Adam on her lap comforting him telling how much Steven love him and its because of the love he has he didn't tell him he wasn't his real father,
Adam was sure Sophie will some how convince Steven to send him to on orphanage, but Gabriela assure him it won't happen,
Rena got up to get the door when it knock, both Raymond and Gabriela turn to see Steven, slowly walking in he took a seat beside Gabriela and Adam, from the moment he came in he tell something was wrong Adam face was stain with tears Steven wasn't use to Adam crying not even when Sophie was shouting at him abusively, so he figure he heard Sophie saying he's not his son and talking about putting him in a home,
"Adam I made a promise to your father that I will look after you, am I not doing everything a father would ?" Steven ask
Adam nod,
"Your father and I work together for many years he became a friend a friend would like to have he lost his life trying to save someone else life, he wanted to leave you with someone who would love you and Adam I never consider you to be my friend son for you are my son no one will be able to change what I feel for you not even you for even if you ask me to stop being your dad I won't be able to"
"No dad" Adam shook his head, "I never want you to stop being my dad"
"OK so after today I don't even want you to remember those words coming from Sophie's mouth"
Adam nod hugging Steven,
Gabriela wonder if he wanted to cry to the look in his eyes when they met hers,
"Dad can I stay the night with Gabriela?" He ask
"Yes" Steven didn't hesitate Gabriela help him get ready and read him a quick story, Steven was still with Rena and Raymond talking when she came, it didn't take them long to bid goodnight leaving them, they barley left before Steven dragged himself closer to Gabriela, leaning in to kiss her.
It was the beginning of a new week, every one back to school, Steven was working now on the night shift,
Because he didn't get home until after the children leave for school and leave for work before they got home, a few days past when Gabriela didn't see him Saturday she met with him at the food store, he was shopping with Adam he came running to meet her, they talk with her only for a short while for he and Adam was on their way to see his parents,
Later she was in the kitchen with Rena and Raymond when she heard foot steps she turn to see Steven he came in and greet Rena and Raymond he put something on the counter when she look it was a bottle of rum cream and a six pack beers,
"Anyone for a drink?" He ask Raymond pop the bottle and Rena get the glasses, Gabriela didn't  feel like drinking refused " but why gabby? " Steven ask coming next to her holding her around the waist but because her brother was there she shake him away,
"Relax" he said taking the glass of rum cream Raymond had poured before escaping to the living room,
Kenneth was offer a beer and Gabriela get ice tea for herself and Martha and came to sit next to her, they were sharing a conversation when Stevia cried out "I'll go " Steven said getting up to go to the room,
"Gabriela she's moving around what should I do?" He ask when he was standing at the door,
"You should let her use the bathroom" Rena told him
Steven let her use the bathroom like Rena said then put her back in bed he came and sat next to Gabriela,
"That little girl is really found of you, I've never seen her so found of any one" Kenneth said
"Sir your granddaughter is my daughter" Gabriela turn to look at him surprised he would say that to her parents, she look and see them exchange looks and could see the surprise on both their face,
Rena look from Raymond to Gabriela and to Martha and Kenneth,
"Your daughter didn't tell you but I'm the one who cause your daughter to dropped out of college i didn't know about pumpkin until I move here and I learn she was my child with out her mother telling me, but I'm ready to be apart of her life what ever I'm to do, Mr and Mrs Simmons I know you both work hard to send gabby to collage and you both were disappointed she came home pregnant"
"We were" Martha admit it for the first time, "but not any more that little girl is a joy to the family, no body could regret having her for a grand child" Steven smile,
"Its good you came in her life that has make me happy" Martha said
"She deserve to have a father like you" Kenneth told him his smile turn in to a grin and Rena saw him relax turning to look at Gabriela,
"I wish all men would care to look after their child the way you do"
"Its because I'm in love with your daughter"
Gabriela try to hide her face when they look at her but that was for them to work out, they said there good night leaving them alone 
Much as Gabriela felt shaken she was glad that her parents finally learn that Steven was her daughter's father.
