"Sweetie," a voice pulled you out of your deep slumber.
"Mhm," you uttered with your usual, morning groggy voice.
"Sweetie, wake up. I have great news from the hospital."

You squinted an eye open and gawked at your father with your mind awake, body asleep.
"Your mother has recovered. There is no sign of the disease either. It's a miracle!" he effused.

Upon your brain processing his words, you were suddenly wide awake.
"What? How so?" you stumbled over your words.
"Did the switch work?"
"No, it can't be."

"This seems so unreal! Like someone flipped a switch in our lives!"
His words caused your eyes to widen.
"It was the switch," you perplexed.

You were completely baffled. Part of you were overjoyed that your mother was well, and the disease seemingly disappeared like magic. But another fraction of you were in shock. That switch was really capable of changing one's life.

"Oh, switch, where have you been my entire life? Magic is real, oh, magic is very real!"
You remembered the other things you had wished for.
Your father would get less work. Your family would be happy again. What was the other wish again?

"Eh, no worries. I'll catch on anyways."
You stepped out of bed wearing a bright smile.
When you were much younger, you would always wake up to the smell of newly cooked breakfast.
It was either the sizzling, hot bacon your mother had prepared, or the scent of your father's signature fresh pancakes drizzled with maple syrup and topped with a cube of butter.

"I made your favorite. Come and eat breakfast, kiddo," he said warmly, ruffling your bed head.
It all really was coming true.

Your father had lead you to the dining area where your two siblings were already scarfing down the glazed, golden pancakes. Your mouth watered at the sight.

You bolted to your seat and sat down. Picking up the eating utensils that was set beside the prepared meal, you began devouring the pancake whole.

Oh, how much you missed this.
"Slow down, (y/n)," your father chuckled and tugged on your arm.
"Showwy," you apologized, mouth still full.

Your two siblings bursted out laughing at your state. You joined them in doing so, making the laughter grow louder.
"This is unbelievable. I'm so, very happy."

                     ———

"You're unusually happy today. Did anything happen?" Izuku marvelled.
Your two other friends hummed in agreement.

"Well, my mother has recovered and my father was home. He even made breakfast." you beamed as the three watched.

"Seeing you happy makes us happy aswell!" Iida chirped.
You grinned from ear to ear and wrapped them in your embrace.
"Thanks, you guys!"

Your smile dwindled upon spotting Todoroki. He was already staring straight at you except it was not the usual glare he sent you.
There was something different.

I have an extra long weekend. Hooray! I still do have homework, but a three day weekend is just amazing. Though, report cards are coming soon. Now I'm getting anxious. Great.
