nine | the abyss

You were lounging in your room. You were granted permission to return home with your quite severe migraine. Now it has subsided and you felt rather drained.

You recollected the words a mere stranger told you in the library.
Black magic, huh?
So you were deceived. A sorceress had deluded you.

But you should not think much of it.
What was important was your family and Todoroki. They may be put at risk too.

Your eyes averted to the envelope that rested on your bedside table. Your room resounded with the unceasing ticking of the timepiece on your wall.
Listening to it unknotted your slightly tense muscles. The rising and falling of your chest slowed down.

Then an unexpected knock on the door broke your reverie.
"Come in," you said.

In came your mother. Your two siblings trailed behind her.
"Are you feeling better?" she asked and gingerly ruffled your already disheveled hair.

You nodded your response. Your two siblings jumped onto the bed, one of them knocking the envelope—in which the switch was in—off the table.
You took a sharp inhalation and watched it fall to the floor of your room, only to be picked up by the said pair.

"What is this, (Y/N)?" they probed the envelope.
"Hey, hands off that!" you fumed, trying to pry it out of their hands.

But to no avail, at the other side of the room, they studied the switch in their hands in a puzzled manner.
"Give that back," you growled, advancing towards the two.

One of their fingers ghosted over the switch.
"Why?" they ask tauntingly in unison.

"Please, you two," you supplicated the two for the switch.
Flick. A swift motion of their finger caused you to widen your eyes.

"No!" you blurted.

You fall into an abyss in perpetual darkness. Tears streamed down your face as you wept.

"Somebody, please," your voice trailed off.
You buried your face in your hands.
"Please..."

I apologize for not updating any earlier! School has just been throwing projects at me.
But anywho, thanks for voting and commenting on the past chapters! It really keeps me motivated on updating. Usually I stop at four chapters because I get lazy. But not on this book!
