It's been a few months since Alois and I became a couple, he's having me sleep in his room, and told me to not worry about chores since I've become a Lady. Tonight, my wonderful boyfriend is throwing a party, and everyone he knows will be there. I wanted to help the others set up but Alois insisted that I don't since I'm now a Lady; so here I am, sitting in his study as he does paperwork. I play with the sleeve of my favorite sweater, feeling the deep scars from the cuts I left behind a few months ago. I haven't been cutting because of Alois, he'd be very upset if I started again.
I sigh. "Alois, I'm bored," I say, disturbing the silence.
He looks up from the pile of papers on his desk. "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" He retorts with much sass and attitude.
"Sorry I bothered to say anything." Tears sting my eyes, he's never given me that kind of attitude before.
Did I do something wrong? I get up and leave his study to go down to my old room. I lock the door and search the bed for my tiny box. I find it between the mattress. At this point, I don't care if he leaves me for cutting myself. I need some sort of relief from the pain building up inside. I go to the bathroom and lock the door, I climb into the tub and sit down. I grab a razor and cut my wrist, the pain washing over me, giving me a sense of relief. My throat burns with thirst, like a hot iron being shoved down it.
One cut.
Two cuts.
Three cuts.
Four cuts.I continue to cut my arms and drink my own blood until I feel weak. I stumble out of the red-stained tub and wobble to Alois's room. I grab a roll of bandages and wrap my wrist up. I look at the time and decide to get ready for the party. Alois wanted me to wear something that shows off my arms and back, but I decide to wear something that covers my skin up. I curl my hair and let it fall down my back; I also make sure that the sleeve covers the bandage. I leave the bathroom and see Alois getting ready. He's wearing a white dress shirt, a black tie, a pair of black slacks, and a purple dress coat. His blond hair falls into his eyes.
He stares at me, I silently gulp, waiting for his hand to come in contact with my cheek.
"You look beautiful." He smiles.
God, he's so bipolar. I force a smile. "Thank you, you look handsome as always."
He grabs my hand and we go to the ballroom. So many people are here. And, they're all staring at you. My heart starts to pound in my ears; my breathing shallow and quiet, not even Alois can hear it.
They all make small conversation with my boyfriend as I walk away to the snack table. A young man with blue-black hair and stunning blue eyes stands by it with another man. His butler maybe? I decided to greet him.
I walk up to him and say, "Hello. I'm Emilee." I force another smile.
He reminds me of someone I met a while ago.
"We meet again, Emilee." His voice. The depth and masculinity. Ciel Phantomhive??
"Lord Phantomhive? Oh, I'm sorry I didn't recognize you." I bow.
"No need to be sorry, my dear." He chuckles.
I blush a deep red.
"This is my butler, Sebastian."
The tall man with striking crimson eyes and raven black hair bows. "A pleasure to meet you, Ms. Emilee." His smile is captivating.
"Pleasure is all mine, Sebastian." I giggle.
"There you are." Alois's voice rings behind me. His arm wraps around my waist. "I've been looking all over for you, dearest. Oh, Ciel, wonderful you're here. Hope you are enjoying the party." Alois fakes a smile at Ciel.
"Hello, Alois Trancy. Isn't this your maid?" He asks, pointing at me.
Alois laughs. "Not any longer, she's my Lady. My other half you might say." He squeezes my tiny waist.
"It was nice to see you again, Lord Phantomhive," I say as Alois pulls me away.
"Why did you run off like that?" He says out of earshot of the other guests.
"I was hungry, and I ran into Ciel." I quickly lied.
He sighs. "Stay by my side at all times, Emilee. I mean it or else." His blue eyes become a darker ocean blue.
I gulp. "Y-yes, your highness." I look down at the floor, avoiding his gaze.
He walks away, leaving me in the hallway. Tears prickle at my eyes, flowing down my cheeks. I run to Alois's room and take off the dress and ridiculous shoes. I slip on leggings, a tank top, my tennis shoes, and my jacket. I take off the makeup and pack my bags full of my belongings: my pants, shirts, bras, makeup, phone charger, socks, and a few pictures of Alois and I when we were happy. I grab my phone and tiny box and leave out the window, making sure to not leave a trail behind.
I run into the woods nearby, carrying my stuff and not looking back. I'm sorry Alois, but I will not stay with you when I obviously don't make you happy anymore. You will find someone else to love and forget about me. You're good at that. But, I'll always love you. Please, don't come looking for me. It's not worth it.
