                                                                                  Year 2012

The world was heading towards the next world war, or so everyone had thought. America had gone into war with China over a rumor that experiments were being created to make the perfect soldier. To get ahead of China, America decided to create their own perfect soldier. Many children went missing from all over the country. Only a few of those bodies had been ever found. After a while of the children going missing, it suddenly stopped. Five years later, the threat of a world war was diminished when America and China signed a peace treaty to stop the fighting and any testing done to create the super soldier. The government was ashamed to admit that they had failed in the attempts, and to even recognize the massive murders done. To the government, the murders were done from the missing scientist. The last known place any child was taken was in the Village of Phoenix. After a while of a child being reported missing, the town began seeing a strange creature, the size of a small boy. The creature is said to look just like the small human boy that had gone missing, and to have a fluffy tail, and large ears. None of the reports have been proven true…or false. Eventually, the people living in the small Village of Phoenix, forgot about the kidnappings, and moved on.

Through the fear of the creature sightings, a myth arose. The myth surrounded an abandoned warehouse, and how a half human, half animal creature lived there. It was said that the creature would kill anyone and anything that neared it. This helped keep the children and adults of the town away from it.

                                                                              Year 2007

Five years ago in the Village of Phoenix, through a dim light in an underground room, sat a large, foggy glass tube filled with green liquid. Inside the glass tube, floating, was a silhouette of a small child with wires and tubes attached to him. Standing in front of the tube were two male figures, staring at the child, their faces darkened by shadows.

“What should with do with it?” spoke one of the scientist.

“Get rid of it, the police will already figure he’s dead,” said the other scientist.

The other scientist nodded, and gestured to their assistants. They were to remove the child from the tank, and dispose of him. The assistants drained the tank of green fluid. Most of the children used in the experiment had never woken up once the fluid was removed. So when the assistants went to remove the child from the tube, his eyes flashed open. Before the assistants could react, the child jumped out of the tube. The child was like a shadow, a blur to the eyes.

It moved with great speed, heading towards the assistants. The child sunk its small, clawed hands into the neck of one of the assistants, ripping out tendons, veins, and muscle. The assistant fell to the floor, dead within seconds.

Everyone started to panic. The child moved from one assistant to the next, repeating the same procedure. Any who tried to run, were ripped limb from limb.  While this was happening, the two scientists stood and watched. After they had seen the gruesome killings of the first two assistants, they decided it was time for them to leave. They ran down the hall, leaving behind the massacre that was unfolding.

Soon, the shadow of the child began to follow them, bloody hand prints being left behind with his every passing movement. The slower of the scientist was attacked first. He yelled out for his partner, but was ignored, left into the hands of the child. The child ripped him into shreds, flesh being ripped from his skin, and muscles being destroyed by the tiny hands of the child.

The other scientist ran for his life, knowing that he may not make it. The door came into view, and he picked up his speed. When he made it to the door, he frantically searched for the key. Behind him, running down the hall, was the child. The scientist turned, eyes widening. He started searching more frantically. When he found the key and was starting to pull it out, he took a quick glance behind him, and the last thing he saw was the tiny hand of the child swinging down to slice his face into pieces.
