Chapter Six:

Really?!?

I had been laying in my bed, the house dark and quiet. My parents had gone to bed a few hours ago, and I knew that they were sleeping. They force me to go to bed when they do so there is no lights on, nothing running and to make sure I don’t go anywhere. Their room in down stairs near the kitchen so even if I wanted to sneak out, there was no chance for that.

Well I laid in my bed, staring at my ceiling when my phone vibrated on my night stand. The light filled the whole half of my room as he sat up, and looked at it. It was a message from my new friend Peyton. She was the only person who wasn’t an ass in school, and seemed to be smarter then the normal Phoenix student.

I smiled softly and texted her back before setting my still glowing phone down, then laid back down myself. Having the light in the room was comforting, since I had yet to decorate it to my liking.

I had closed my eyes slowly starting to fall asleep when a bang on the side of the house near my window shocked me back awake. I flung my blanket off and hopped onto the cold floor before hurried over to the window.

When I opened it to look down, I was shocked when something, or more as someone jumped inside tackling me to the floor. I know with all the banging that had just happen and me crashing to the floor that my parents were awake.

I felt the thing get off me, as I then stumbled to my feet and looked at the person. I was able to hit the person until I looked better and noticed it was Noah. I Slowly relaxed looking at him, before asking what he was doing here.

He had only looked at me before asking why, which only puzzled me. I then asked him what he meant. His growl shocked me but the questions he asked topped that.

“Why weren’t you afraid? Why did you come to my woods? And why….why did you stay and try to get me to come back to you?” he had asked me.

All I could do was stare at him for a minute. I then took a step towards him, noticing him as he stepped back as well, that was when I stopped.

“Well I went there in search to prove the locals wrong.” I started, taking another step. With every step I took he had backed up, slowly moving towards a corner.

“I wasn’t afraid because. Because you are scary, and why be scared of something that isn’t scary?” I said softly. I took another step, and when he backed up he realized he was cornered, and looked at me with wide and slightly worried eyes. I then Stood kind of lose to make sure he wasn’t able to escape. “And the reason I stayed and looked for you is that is just wanted to know you, and maybe we could be friends.”

I looked into those deep almost white eyes, seeing fear and sadness. I opened my mouth ready to say something else when I heard feet running up the stairs towards my room.

I turned away from Noah long enough to see my parents run threw my door. My dad was holding a bat, while my mom had her hair dryer. A lot of help they will be huh. He sighed seeing them then backed away from Noah who was standing as sill as he could be. My parents stared at him for a minute their eyes wide.

“Mom, Dad. Don’t freak out. He’s a friend.” I sad softly. I glanced back to him, noticing the weird look he was giving me. I turned back to my parents who were looking at me then to Noah.

“W-what is he, Kurt” my mother asked as she hid behind my father.

“Well he the monster people say lives in the woods, but he is actually just a boy with  slight abnormality.” I said softly as he turned to Noah and held out a hand to help him out of the corner.

Whe he had taken my hand I couldn’t help but smile. I then turned back to my parents who were becoming less freaked out as they looked him over. My dad seemed to be eyeing him, and not in a good way, but my mom was looking him up and down before bursting.

“Oh you pour thing, look at how dirty you are, and you are nothing but bones.” she said, as she moved over to Noah but my dad grabbed her shoulder stopping her. Noah had flinched and backed up again slightly as my dad approached him.

My dad looked him over before looking into his eyes. My dads eyes were like ice but any anger ot hostility he had in his eyes seemed to melt away as he looked Noah over some more. He then backed up and looked at me as he allowed my mother to run over and take a hold of Noah who flinched and was dragged away out of my room.

I was about to follow but was stopped by my dad. His gaze was stern again as he cleared his throat.

“Why didn’t you tell us he was here?” he asked me in a stern and harsh tone.

I looked back at him then to my door as I hear my mom go on about how she couldn’t believe me was still alive with how pour his condition was, then looked back to my dad.

“Well, dad, he had just showed up.” I said.

He lifted his eyebrow, but I cut him off by pointing to the window. He looked at the window then back to me before sighing.

“Im going back to bed, you make up a spar room for your friend there. I know your mom isn’t going to let him leave without making sure he is in perfect condition.” he said softly as he left.

I looked at my door, staring. Did my dad just give permission for Noah to stay here. After I minute I then jumped and went to get a spare room set near mine for Noah to stay in.

I never said my parents were heartless people, they just don’t pay attention or care about the things I do in the house. When it came to something about the massive care about someone like Noah who was homeless, alone, and unwanted they loved it.

I had been in the spare room near mine, getting the bed set with fresh sheets and pillows when I heard the door open. In walked my mom and Noah. He seemed to be shaken badly, and had wide eyes. I was actually to afraid to ask what she did to him. I then noticed she had dressed him in what seemed to be on of my old shirts and a pair of her old pj pants and had cut a whole in the back for his tail.

My mom smiled at me then walked out of the room and I assumed went back to bed like my dad had done a bit ago. I then turned y attention to Noah, and stared for a minute or two.

My shirt seemed to hang loosely on him and the pants weren’t tight but were like perfect, or maybe a little big. I stopped looking at him then moved away from the bed and smiled.

“This is the room you will be staying in, and don’t worry. Your safe here” I said softly to him. He stared at me for a minute before looking at the bed. I then smiled awkwardly before walking to the door.

“Sleep well Noah, I hope to see you in the morning” I said softly before closing the door and heading to my own room and went to bed.

In the middle of the night I had woken up, feeling something really warm next to me. As I opened my eyes slowly I noticed I wasn’t alone in my bed and as I looked down I noticed it was Noah.

He was laying facing me, his arms folding on his chest, while the rest of him was in a small ball. I was about to wake him up but I noticed he seem comfy. So I just sighed softly before smiling and going back to sleep myself
