It was just another boring day. I could hear yelling from the elementary school children and the gossip from the high school and middle school students in the spot I was lying in the warehouse. Hearing them only brought back memories from when I used to go to school.
I rolled over onto my side and stared off into the woods. There was nothing to look at anymore, nothing new ever grew in the forest. No one ever shows up now, and the light rarely reaches here.
I sighed softly and closed my eyes. I tried to take a nap since it’s one of the few things I can do here. Then all of a sudden, a sound hits my ears causing me to sit up fast. I got up and walked to the window. I peered out into the woods. As the wind blew through the woods, the smell of a male hit my nose.
I moved quickly to the end of the warehouse, following the smell. My pulse began to race as the scent became closer and closer.
“Is this a person who was here to capture me and make me into another experiment?” I thought to myself.
I scanned every inch of the forest line that surrounded the warehouse. As I was re-scanning the south perimeter, a figure suddenly a merged. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. A man was standing in clear view. In my perspective he was perfect. I had never seen this man before, and I thought he might have been new to town or a reporter, but the man looked too young.
I watched him closely, getting lost in his looks until I noticed he was getting to close to the warehouse. I started to get uncomfortable, so I scooted away from the window.
“What am I to do?” I thought.
My heart rate began to speed up.
“Should I let him into the warehouse, or try and scare him away like I did with the others?”
I was utterly confused and deep down I really didn’t want to scare the boy, but it was the only way I could stop anyone from getting into the warehouse. I never wanted people to see the blood stained halls, and rooms.
When the boy finally stood right up to the warehouse door, I decided to act. I moved with great speed and tackled the boy as he started to open the door. We rolled about a foot or two, and then stopped. I jumped back onto my feet and stared down at him.
My heart was racing, and my body was shaking lightly. The outcome of this situation was unknown to me, and with his large form I was in deep trouble if he reacted with fighting.
He slowly started to stand up, and when he finally did we continued to stare at each other. Neither knowing what would happen
