Chapter 6
It’s been two days since I’ve seen Alex.
He wasn’t here yesterday.
He wasn’t in class.
He wasn’t even in school.
I moped into class not even caring about the glances I got from others, my mood had been killed earlier when he was nowhere to be found.
Killed was an understatement. My mood had been tormented and then slaughtered. That’s what I get for getting my hopes so high.
The funny thing was, I actually missed the kid.
I missed his dark untamed hair with a hit of curls in it.
I missed his warm brown eyes that looked perfect in the lighting.
I missed his shy smile.
I missed his damn misleading mysterious ways that pissed me off.
I missed having someone new in my life.
For goodness sakes get a hold of yourself your making it sound like the kid died. He’s been gone for a couple days, oh well. I shook off the thoughts and unloaded my bag.
As I was working on the warm up a delicious odor wandered from the stranger that took a seat across from me. The smell was enough to make my mouth water. I abruptly looked up and regreted it as soon as the stranger became identified. Shit.
“Well hello there,” Brandon smirked.
“What the hell do you want?” I snapped.
“Whoa! Hostile much? I was just gana ask a pretty lady to be my partner.”
“We don’t need partners dumbass!”
“Well actually yesterday the teacher did make an announcement, not that I expect you to remember since you were lost in your own little world, and there’s a reminder on the board right there. So who’s the dumbass now?”
Looking at the board I verified that he indeed was telling the truth. I shot him a glare but it appeared as though my attitude amused him.
“What makes you think I want to work with you?” I challenged.
“The fact that your little puppy dog isn’t here today.” His eyes gestured to the empty seat the belonged to Nicole.
Shit. He got me again.
“I have other options.”
“I’m sure you do as pretty as you are.” I fought the blush I felt rising.
Brandon Grey was not going to get a reaction from me.
“So explain your reasoning to why I should work with you. Your probably a slacker anyways.”
“I bet I can make you change your mind about that. Just give it a chance.”
“Bet what?”
“Doesn’t matter. Winner can decide at the end.”
My shoulders shrugged after thinking it over for a minute, “Deal.”
An accomplished smile took of his face. It was a nice smile. Different from Alex’s.
