Before you start reading please read the next things im about to say -
There is going to be a lot of alcohol, drugs, violence and sex in this book. If you don't like that for whatever reason, I suggest you don't read it.
The book is inspired (Kind of) by The 1975's Music Video for Robbers so if it's similar to that, then that's why. Please don't tell me i'm copying because I've warned you and I am not taking any credit other than my own input, fictional characters etc etc etc
Also, just like to give a credit to my girl Alyssa for helping me come up with this rad idea okay.
Other than that, enjoy your stay

Poppy
It started on the roof.
The small, silver, shed roof that seemed to be my favourite place in the world. Most people say they have hobbies like Dancing or Singing or something along them lines, but mine...Mine was to sit on the roof and smoke until my lungs hurt and I get all dizzy in the head.
Okay so maybe not that far, but you get where I'm coming from.
The beautiful, pleasurable smoke was immuninating above and around my head as it slowly left my mouth and vanished into thin air within a couple of seconds. The Moonlight. The only thing that seems to light up the world while the sun sacrifices it's life on the other side of the world, giving everyone on that side life. The silence. The calm, eerie nothingness that will always be there, always stuck by your side, ready to attack when noise has had it's say.
The three most peaceful things I, Poppy Dickens, could muster up amongst a world full of everything I hate. The only thing that helps me sleep at night, the only thing I will ever need. Small, simple things that could never be taken away from me, even if I tried.
It was almost hitting half past two in the morning and I was lying on the shed roof in my back yard, my happy place, my heaven. It doesn't sound like much and it really wasn't anything, but the way the moon and the stars sat right above me, while I smoked away my stress -It was enough to keep me sane. The silence wasn't there, though. It never was this time of night. The Hood family are fighting again, this time about Calum being arrested for being in the middle of a drug bust. It was amusing to listen to, even though it was disturbing my quiet time.
"Why do you do this to me Calum?! Why? I'm sick to death of being called down to the police station because you're in the wrong place! This is the third time this month!"
"I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time, mum! Fucking hell you always just fucking assume the worst of me, thIS IS WHY I HATE IT HERE!"
"THEN LEAVE!"
"FINE!"
"3...2...1..." I whispered to myself before taking another drag from my smoke. I sat up -with a lot of effort- and watched Calum's window open from the second floor. He slipped out, causing his muscles to flex and his butt clench. When he was safely secure on the roof, he stuck the curtain back inside before sliding the glass down again, then crawling over to the ladder against the house. He jumped the last four steps and dusted himself off, then began walking over to the back yard fence. He always did this. It was the same routine every night. They fought, he got mad, he left. Suddenly he stopped and stared up at me, just like he did last night. It was awkward when he noticed me because I don't think he's ever realised just how much I've been aware of him. He glared at me then changed his direction, walking over to me instead.
