~PJ's POV~

There she was. I ran up to Kai... She looked different... I suddenly fell and landed in a dark room... What was that noise? Crying? I walked over to see Kai crying in the corner. "Kai..." Her name escaped me as she got up. Her hair was messy and her clothes were torn. She looked up at me to show soulless black eyes with black stuf oozing out as if it flowed freely. She was cut in her joints and her throat was slit. Her mouth sliced the sides into a huge sinister smile, the wound reaching her ears. All the cuts were messily cross stitched up and bleeding the same black tears she cried. I couldn't handle it. I looked away and looked back to see her engulfed in shackles and chains... Around her neck, arms, torso, head... I looked up to see that they were hanging from the ceiling... I looked back at Kai, shocked... "Help... Me..." Escaped Kai's split black lips... Her mouth then opened more and the stitches on the corners of her mouth tore as she let out a large laugh. I tried to run... She grabbed my leg and pulled me up to get face and then said... "There's no escape." She then dropped me. I fell... For what felt like forever...

I woke up and realized I was sweating and crying. "Its just a dream." I whisper to myself as I calm down. I hear rustling coming from the other side of the room to see a marionette. It was all beaten up and looked like she was actually hurt... She looked like Kai... I shook my head. This wasn't a dream. I got up to inspect the doll, and as I walked up to it, it just... Vanished... "That can't happen. Its not real. Ghosts, demons, that shit isn't real." I remind myself. I've never believed in ghosts, demons, spirits, the afterlife and all of that crap. I'd never say that in front of Kai because she's really really superstitious when it comes to that.

I checked the time on my phone to see that it was 6:00 AM. Might as well get up.

I got up and got dressed, still thinking about that dream. I keep trying to debunk it. "There's no escape." Those words kept lingering in my mind all morning as I walked onto my balcony. I sat outside on the small balcony, as I looked at what was going on this morning... I looked next to me to see Kai sitting on her window sill, with all of her darn houseplants everywhere. I loved her but I had a feeling she loved her houseplants more. I knocked on the walk in between us. Kai jumped, as always.

~Kai's POV~

"OI!" I yell jokingly at PJ. I knew it was him. I got up and waded through the houseplants to see him. "Waddup materino?" I ask, "Nothing much, you?" "You can hear me blasting MCR and Set It Off in here so I bet you k ow what's going on." I laugh. "Of course. The walls are so thin and old. I still don't know why I live here, to be honest." PJ says, looking at me. "I actually like it. Old buildings are my life." PJ laughs. "Yeah like how you're the only person in the universe who has a record player." He says. "Hey! I love that thing. Its from my great grandmother before she died, OK?" I reply, slightly annoyed. "Ok, Winifred." I laughed. That was my great grandmothers name. My friends always referred to me as Winifred and Mary, because they were my great grand mothers. Mary was Italian on my grandfathers side, and Winifred was on my grandmothers side, she was English. I was always referred to Mary more because I have Mary as my middle name, and I'm referred to Winifred or Winnie because I look scarily like her. I snapped out of my thoughts to see PJ looking at me. "Oh sorry. Heh..." "Its fine, Kai." PJ said, patting Barney who had walked outside. "Anyways... Wanna go to a record store today? I heard that they're now releasing new bands on vinyl and I kinda wanna check them out and see if they're good. And I also wanna build up my Beatles and my Rolling Stones collections." I say. PJ nods. "Well, I'm gonna go get dressed now, if we wanna get there early." I say. I kiss PJ on the cheek and walk inside.

~PJ's POV~

I got up from the windowsill and walked out to my door, grabbing my phone, keys, and shutting the door.

A short while later of waiting outside Kai's apartment, she walked out wearing a denim jacket, skirt that goes down to the top of her knees, black converse, a red T-shirt that was tied into a knot at the side and a maroon fedora with a feather sticking out of the side, like she was in the newspaper but with a feather. She had a small brown bag and matching glasses with black on the sides. "Ready?" She asks me. "Yeah."

We start walking down the hall and down the stairs, just to bump into James and Lia. Kai stops me and runs around a corner to listen, I follow and do the same.

J: I'm so glad we ditched those two.
L: yeah... I still sort of love PJ though...
J:forget him! He's a loser. Same with that slut, Kai.
L: yeah... Kai is a whore.
J: name isn't even Kai. Her real name is Winifred.
L: ew. thats so old. Kai's worse though.
J: yeah. All her friends know her names Winifred but they never mention it.

I looked over to Kai. She had rage in her eyes... "Don't." I whispered to her. Her face softened and she stopped. We walked out for them to see us. As we walked past them, Kai shoved James to the wall... "Oops! Sorry!" She said, sarcastically...

We walked down the street, looking up at the trees and holding hands. "Wait so Winnie is your real name!?" I ask her. "Yeah... You can call me Win or Winnie. I actually like that name more... I'm gonna ditch Kai and stay as Winifred." She said, smiling. "Whatever you say, Winnie!" I reply smiling. We walk for a while until we see store, it says 'Boba Jam' on the sign. "Hey wanna get bubble tea?" Winnie asks me. I nod and we walk in and order.

Once we've ordered we walk out into the street and keep going. "What flavour did you get, Win?" I ask. "Green Tea." She says, sipping it. "Never knew you like green tea. And judging by the smell of your apartment and all your tea boxes, never knew you loved tea!" I said, surprised. She laughed and stopped. "This is it! This is the place!" Winnie says jumping up and down in excitement. We walk in and I'm immediately greeted by the smell of wood and what you'd expect to smell in an antique shop. Winnie took a big sniff and I looked at her. "You like that smell?" I ask. "Of course! I love old stuff. Its literally my life! Especially antique shops and record players and that old retro stuff." She says as we walk further in. Win walks to a box of records labelled 'Beatles/Stones' and opens it. "YEAH BOIIII!" She yells in excitement as she pulls the records out of their covers to inspect them. "Wow. These are actually in pretty good condition and they're the albums I haven't got yet!" She says, inspecting each record, like it was a precious artifact. I knelt down beside her and looked...
