Waniya stepped out of 'his' car and walked towards the front door of her house. Her own house which her husband had bought for her. He had wanted to live here since they got married and no matter how Waniya tried to convince him to let her paint the house herself, he didn't agree. She was pregnant with his child and they found out as soon as they came back from their honeymoon so he didn't let her do anything with the house.

She had convinced him that they would move after the baby is born so they can paint it themselves and to that, Fareed had agreed. Now, as she opened the door and stepped inside, all the memories of them coming and staying there flashed in her mind. They were supposed to move to their own house in a week when Fareed died.

She could hear his voice echoing in the house and the images of past started playing in front of her eyes. Tears blurred her vision but she didn't let them out.

"Can you move woman?" Someone hissed in her ear. She was standing in the doorway blocking the way of the person behind her who was holding her only child in his hands. She stepped aside not bothering to even look at him.

Walking into the living room she smiled as she recalled what happened when she came here for the first time with Fareed.

"Careful." He said as he helped Waniya to get up the stairs. There were three steps at the front door. Waniya smiled and shook her head.

"I can walk by myself, thank you very much." She said as she tried to free her arm from his grip but he didn't let go.

"I don't want you to trip and hurt yourself or the baby. You both are very precious to me."

"Now, welcome to our house where we would live together as a husband and a wife properly." He said and Waniya chuckled.

"We already live as a husband and wife, husband dearest." She said.

"Yeah, in a house where you have to cover up in front of your husband as well." He said, his expression a mixture of anger and sadness. Waniya smiled.

"I do take my hijab off when we are in our room." She told.

"That's the only place where you 'can' take it off. It's unfair to you Waniya. I wish we could move here now. We can do the designing later, please." He repeated his wish hoping Waniya would agree.

"Okay, we would stay here for a week and then we will go back to get the rest of our things." She said circling her arm around Fareed's neck and Fareed grinned, kissing her nose over her niqab.

"Why do you kiss my nose?" She asked as she chuckled and rubbed her nose. Fareed shrugged in response and went out to get their suitcase.

Someone pulled her niqab bringing her back to the present. Her self hypnosis bubble popped as she slapped his hand away and fixed her niqab which slipped from her nose.

"Don't you dare touch it again." She hissed.

"I didn't want to but I had to because you keep zoning out every other second. Farhad is asleep. Where do you want me to put him?" He told holding her sleeping baby in his hands.

"I can put him to bed myself. You don't have to do anything." She said and picked him up taking him upstairs.

There were three bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom was fully decorated because the last time they came here, they decorated it together. Waniya smiled again recalling the best moments of her life.
