Dance With Me

Hanji became better in the next couple days, allowing me to take her out again. This night, I was thinking of taking her to do an activity that she can teach me. As we discussed so many times, she loved to dance, for me, I never danced in my whole life. I waited for her in her apartment, in her kitchen while she was getting ready in her bedroom.

Minutes passed and I heard the door open. I turn towards the noise and I was paralyzed by her looks. She wore a dark blue shirt, laced with black lace. She wore black tights and her hair was down, but she had a black rubber band on her right wrist.

"Wow, not much to show off, Levi?" She place her hands on her hips, shaking her head. "Man, I would've thought you would dress up or something."

I looked down, I had black jeans and I wore a light gray shirt with a black jacket over it. "I think I look normal, Hanji."

"So, you're saying that you're fine? In a place where you'll be dancing?"

"I'm the only person you'll ever dance with." I hold out my hand, "Come on, teach me how to dance when we get there, okay?"

She smiles as she shakes her head. "You're weird, you know that, right?"

"Well, that's why you have me." She takes my hand and we start to leave the apartment. Holding her hand... felt normal... whenever it's not in my hand, it's an addiction, I need it. She doesn't seem to mind, my craving to hold her hand... it's like she wants to be with me all the time.

Standing in front of the dance room just made me uneasy. My palms became sweaty and I grew warm. There was a slight breeze outside and the sky was covered by clouds, hiding the moon and the stars up above.

"Come on, Levi, what are you standing around for?! Let's go inside." I had a glimpse of Hanji rushing past me, taking my hand and pulling me inside the building.

The room was bright and there was some people standing around, but it wasn't crowded. Hanji went ahead and started to sign us in. Seconds passed and Hanji tugged on my arm, dragging me to a different room. When she pushed the door open, the room was dark, music wasn't playing yet, but there was people chattering. I slowly walked in and the music started to blare and lights turned on, flashing everywhere. Blinded by everything, Hanji guided me towards an empty space.

"Alright, you ready to dance?" She asks, smiling.

"I dunno..."

"Levi, you need to express your feelings more. Now, take my hand, we'll dance to the music."

I listened carefully to the music, it was a slow song, but upbeat enough for me to not fall asleep,  "Oh? Well, show me."

She smiles at me and pulls me close. Hanji had to move my arms in their correct spots, both my arms were wrapped around her waist and her arms were around my neck. I was very stiff, and I felt Hanji forcefully move my hips to make me sway with her. My uneasy feeling went away as I kept looking at her eyes, she's the only one who I'm going to be with this whole night, and I'm not letting that go.

"You're not a bad dancer, Levi. Once you got used to it, you're pretty much a natural." She says, giggling just a bit.

"I'm the kind of person that just goes with the flow, that's it. I'm just following how you move and just letting it push me."

"Don't be like that, at least try and make it seem you're having fun. Besides, this is only the beginning of the night."

"Uh, what do you-"

"Levi, it's a slow song." She says as she widens her eyes, "There's a fast one coming up, most likely after this song."

"What makes you-"
