" How?" Is all that I could get out after all the sobbs had subsided.

" He was speeding while on drugs, and ran from the police for 3 hours." She said lowly.

" So, when he did stop, they just... Shot him?" I said with a shocking tone.

" Well, He stopped but they thought he had a weapon." She said. " So they shot at him." Her cries broke the silence and the sobbs started again.

All I could think was that he would never be with me again.

I had just seen him the day before the accident and we were all smiles and fun. His perfect white smile sparkled as the sun reflected off of them.

The next day I decided to come to school, and some of my friends had already heard about the accident somehow. They told me there was a video.

4:00 was shown of the clock hanging above my science room door. Finally I would get to go home.

Silently I opened the door. Mother was sitting on the couch, a laptop on the edge, watching a video that I could barely hear.

* Crash* and screaming were the only two sounds I could make out.

" EVELYN!" I said sternly. " What is that?"

"Nothing." She said fastly, as she slammed the top down.

I knew it had to do something with my father. She wouldn't keep something from me. Even her drunk self. I mean she would be more vulnerable at that stage, but still.

" It's a video they recorded at the time of the scene." She said while interuping my thoughts.

" Oh." I said awkwardly. " Can I see?"

Silence was my reply.

" When your older." She said as she forced the words out of her mouth. " Your not ready to see the stuff in this video." She said.

" Okay." I said as I walked out the door.

I guess that was it. She wouldnt show me, and I wasnt going to waste time looking. I guess I should tell the only people in my life who cared about me.

As I stepped out into the fresh morning air, I heard haley, molly, megan, and bryan voices from the corner.

I started running.
