Snape sneered at the two shocked boys. "What did you think I said?"

Draco was the first to speak up. He didn't want to make Harry feel uncomfortable at the notion of them sleeping in the same room. "Can we talk about this professor?" Draco said gritting his teeth.

Snape sent him a look and kept walking. They were headed in the direction of Dumbledore's office, for a reason which Harry very much dreaded. He knew that he was Draco's mate, and he knew what that meant for them in the future, but it still terrified the hell out of him.

"Professor" Draco whispered, moving from Harry's side to walk beside the man. He did his best to not listen into the conversation, but it was hard. somehow he now seemed to hear everything. Harry shrugged it off as a Veela thing.

"Sev, I don't think that Harry would be comfortable with something like moving in together so soon in the bond." Draco rushed his words, as if he was embarrassed to talk about the bond. Snape gave Draco a funny look and said to him,

"It does not matter what he wants." Snape gestured back with his head. "as much as it pains me to say this, you need to be near Potter at a time like this."

Draco looked as though he was about to interrupt, but was stopped with a wave of Snape's hand. "You are too weak, the bond is too weak. It was completely severed only days ago Draco. you both need to be close to each other and that is final."

Draco nodded and looked back to Harry. He waved to his mate and watched a blush climb up his face. Snape sneered as he watched the exchange. "I am taking you to the Headmaster. We need to discuss what to do about... this." he gestured to the boys again.

Harry was once again at Draco's side, and all felt well in the world. Of course, he was nervous. Only days before Harry would have scoffed at the idea of him and Draco holding hands, but now he squeezed his hand as if his life depended on it. Draco squeezed back.

Their bond was still something that was new. It was something incredible, and so full of life now. The boys wanted nothing more than to explore it... eventually. Everything was moving too fast. It was almost as if Harry had blinked and suddenly his life changed. It was incredible and terrifying all at once.

Draco leaned over and whispered into Harry's ear. "We don't have to do anything that you don't want to." Harrys response was to smile, and squeeze his mates hand again, letting him know how grateful he was.

As soon as they arrived at the Headmasters door, Draco let go of Harry's hand and shoved it uncomfortably into his pocket. Harry sent him a concerned look, and Draco weakly smiled back shrugging his shoulders as if it answered his questioning look. Snape muttered a quick word under his breath, and they were let inside.

Dumbledore looked the same as he always did. All of the students had worried about his health after his battle against the Dark Lord, but he was holding up quite well. He was sitting at his large desk with a silver coloured quill in hand and a pot of ink beside it. When he looked up to see the boys and the professor, his aged skin crinkled in delight.

"What might I do for you today Mr. Potter and Mr. Malfoy?" he asked, dropping his quill into the pot of ink. Harry remembered once asking Dumbledore why he wrote by hand when he had magic. His response had been that it was more of a reminder of what others did not have, other than that, he preferred it.

Snape stepped forwards as if he was a lawyer representing their case. "There seems to be somewhat of a peculiar predicament between Mr. Malfoy and Mr. Potter. As you know, Malfoy came into his inheritance over the summer and unsurprisingly presented as Veela. What came as a surprise was that his mate is Mr. Potter." Dumbledore's eyebrow raised at that, but Snape continued. "The bond came as a surprise to the both of them, but most to Potter as he rejected Mr. Malfoy soon after retaining this knowledge. As you can very well see, they in good enough shape now, but their bond is still not strong enough for them to be separated for long amounts of time."

Dumbledore seemed to understand, as he nodded his head towards Snape before clasping his hands and looking up at the sky. "quite the predicament we are in. Yes yes, quite the predicament." he muttered. Harry didn't think he was supposed to hear that but he did, and if he did then so did Draco. Before Harry had the chance to glance over at his mate, Dumbledore woke from his stupor and turned to the boys.

"I do not know much about Veela, but from what I do know it is obvious that the two of you can no longer be separate from each other, am I correct?" Harry gulped, but held his head high as he nodded in confirmation. "Good, good" Dumbledore nodded to himself.

"I trust that Severus will take all the precautions necessary to keep his student safe, which is why I am leaving it in his capable hands." Dumbledore turned to Snape again and gestured for him to come closer.

"You boys may leave now. I have things to discuss with Professor Snape. He will call for you as soon as we come to an agreement as to what we must do." he said. Harry turned to Draco and they nodded before walking out together. before they exited the room Harry turned back to the Headmaster.

"Dumbledore?" he called out. Dumbledore looked over to Harry with a smile already set on his lips. "Thank you."

"Anything to help, my boy" Harry smiled and walked out of the room. As soon as the door closed behind them Draco reached out for his hand again.

"I'm thinking green." Draco said. Harry looked over at him in confusion.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Draco smiled.

"Our room colour. I think it should be green." Draco stated with a very Slytherin-like smile. Harry batted at his shoulder laughing.

"I think I can agree with that."
