C h a p t e r F o u r

It had come to my complete attention that Willow and I had been spending all our days together.
Needless to say, we were growing quite fond of each other.

Now before you think that we are actually dating, let me tell you something.

This is going nowhere.

It's not that I don't cherish all the fun and laughs that we have together, but knowing at the back of my head that anyone could fetch her and take her away from me didn't leave me at ease at two am.

It occurred to me once or twice that Willow may actually not like me like I liked her and that my whole life plan could be completely crushed at a touch of her fluttery fingernails. But, I knew from the way that she looked at me that she saw something too.

I told her about home.
Mom and how she can't cook to save a life, so we basically live on take out, Dad's cooking and oven pizzas.
About how instead of having a stay-at-home-Mom it was my Dad who didn't work.
I even told her about Lillian and her eating disorders.

Things that took me months to say to my friends took a matter of days to tell Willow.

Just like the tree, Willows roots branched themselves higher until they found my heart. Finding a permanent spot.

But she never did judge me.
Never told me my family was stupid or how I stood out weirdly among them.
She never even commented on the fact that I hadn't had a proper girlfriend since I was fourteen.

But what was oddly strange was the fact that no matter how deep I went into my personal life, she never made a dip into hers.

I longed to know about her parents or if she had any siblings. Where she used to live and who she really is.

However, every time she tells me a story or I tell her mine she seems so interested that I eventually forget to ask her.

So I planned on doing it today, I needed to know.

"Willow?"

"Mhmm?", she responded straightening the picnic blanket beneath her, while staring out at the fading sunset.

"Well, you know. I've told you so much about me and my life, and we've known each other for a month and a half now. So why don't you ever tell me about yourself? Your family?"

Maybe it was the fact that her eyes lost their shine for the first time since I had met her or maybe it was the fact that she was so good at keeping a poker face, but I knew something was up.

"Has it really been that long? Look at how the time flies", she picks up her hand from beneath her and adjusts it so it's blocking the sunlight from flashing to her eyes.

"A month and thirteen days to be quite exact, but that wasn't the point. Tell me about yourself", I say trying not to sound too needy.

"I'm exactly what you see Kael, no more, no less. Why do you want to know anyway? I'm not a very interesting person."

I was baffled.

"Not interesting? Willow I don't think I've ever met someone quite as interesting as you!"

"Too kind. Too kind", she says as she lies down on the mat, her yellow summer dress scattered around her.

I sat up looking at her.

Don't push it.

Authors Note:

Hello!
So here's the thing:
I've been spending about an hour or two each day reading on wattpad, voting and commenting, and it's recently come to my attention that I hadn't updated this book since Christmas!
Oh fudgecows that's more that six months ago!
Honestly, I do apologise greatly but the reason behind my lack of updating is because I thought NO ONE was reading this book!
I recently deleted my last book and I even thought about deleting this one, that is, until I got sudden votes, comments and people were adding my books to their reading lists!
I cannot tell you how grateful I am.
You guys know who you are :)
Also, could you please read 'My (Ab)normal Life'- by OhioBaby ? It's an awesome book so far and she's a great updater :)

Thank you and I'm sorry for the short chapter, I'll update more regularly now!
Saba :)
