You sat up against the frame of your bed. Furs were draped across your frail form while you watched the fire flicker. For a moment, you believed a woman was forever dancing amongst the flames, right up until you felt a tap on your shoulder.

Every Ragnarsson was there, smiling down on you pitifully. They knew you were a strong shieldmaiden and despised being bed ridden.

"And why are you here? To pity me? To gloat maybe" you spat as they stood beside you.

However, their motives were proven otherwise when you saw Ivar carrying a chess board, Hvitserk with a jug of mead in hand, an oud in Sigurd's and a bowl of cold water from Ubbe.

You couldn't fight the smile threatening to curl against your plump lips. What exactly would you do without these guys, your childhood friends? Honestly, you would be nothing without them. All you would be known as was (Y/N), the butcher's daughter.

How the people of Kattegat were wrong about you. Thinking you would take advantage just as the thrall had. But, you couldn't do that. Especially, when you heard of the rumours the slave had spread.
