Omkara walked in his mansion, utterly dazed. His day had a complicated start, with the discovery of another letter at his studio, where probably no one could have entered apart from Shivay, Rudra and his friend. And when his mood was getting better while talking with Gauri, not only he received the third letter by stranger's hands, but Gauri had also read it.
"Letters?" Gauri's words replayed in his mind, "You mean you have been receiving more?"
He didn't have much time to explain his situation, since Gauri went away along with that letter, after telling him she had to go. Apparently, she now hates him for hiding the fact.
"I'm stupid." He muttered to himself, while clutching the doorknob of his room, "Totally stupid."
He opened the door to enter his room, which much to his shock, wasn't empty.
"Anika?" He mumbled, as he saw her looking at one of his paintings.
"Om.." Anika looked towards him and raise her brows, "You arrived much late, you know?"
"Yeah, well-" he said, "what are you doing here?"
"Me?" She asked, "I am standing, watching, breathing, converting oxygen in carbon dioxide and-"
"You have poor sense of humor, even poorer than Rudra, " he said as he sat on his bed, " now, can I know why are you here, Your highness?"
"Shivay wanted to meet your father." Anika shrugged, "probably some business matters. He then had to leave for his meeting. I stayed behind to talk with you."
"What talk?"
Oh, well, Gauri told me you met her in the Central park." She muttered, glancing at her nails, " I thought to have a friendly little chat over that."
Icy hands gripped Omkara's heart, making him sprang."Look, Anika..." He said, "I am really Sorry about that. I know it was very wrong of me to..."
'Sorry?" Anika said, frowning, "Why are you sorry for donating for her NGO?"
Omkara blinked, "Come again?"
"Gauri told me that you said you were going to donate money from your next art exhibition." Anika replied.
"Oh! Thaaat!" Omkara exclaimed with relief.
"Yes, that!" Anika said, "I just thought to take a moment to give you a thanks for such a sweet thing."
"Oh, never mind." Omkara uttered, " so Gauri told you about that, nothing else?"
Anika frowned again, "No, I just found her in her room sitting idly. We were just talking when Shivay told me he was coming here and....." She paused, "Wait! What are you asking me this?"
"No, just a casual question." He shook his head.
"Oh Om..." Anika said, tilting her head, " Come on. We are friends since...When? five years?"
"Eight years."
"Ah! Right! Curse my poor memory! I always ask Shivay to remind me to eat almonds but he...." She shook her head, " anyways where was I? Yeah, since we have been friends since a long time, I guess it wouldn't hurt to tell me what's wrong?"
Omkara sighed as he heard her.Even though he found the topic of the letters awkward, He did need someone to whom he could confide his worries and ask for advice. And among all people, Anika was surely the most appropriate person.
"I guess not." He answered her at last.Anika gave her a wide smile before plopping beside him. "So, I am ready. Spill out."
