dahlia's pov
"elle, i cannot even believe we're having this argument right now. you're so ridiculous, you know that?" i said, rolling my eyes unbelievably far back. she laughed and retorted,
"dahli, it's a simple question that we both have different answers to. i want chipotle and you want chick-fil-a. so, let's go to chipotle, yeah?" i sighed and waved the white flag.
"UGH fine." i said laughing. we were sitting on her couch, the warm, saturday sun shining through her windows. the front door burst open with 3 very tall boys: one with hair that looks like worms (hehe), one with glasses, and of course austin. ahhh, he's the cutest.
"hey guys, this is dahlia. dahlia, this is zion, brandon, and austin." elle explained. i waved and examined them all. zion is such a snack and so is brandon, but austin stood out to me for some reason, and hopefully he was thinking the same. i think i was staring, and i think elle noticed. whoops. the boys came to the couch and we were all just talking.
"so dahlia, i feel like i'd remember such a pretty face like yours. have you gone to our school for a long time?" zion asked with a charming smile. i blushed and giggled. austin rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed. uhhh? i could tell zion wasn't truly flirting, it seemed like he was trying to make someone jealous but i shook it off.
"i actually moved here last year so kind of i guess." i replied, occasionally glancing at the cute blonde boy across the coffee table. all the guys seemed like they were keeping some weird secret, but i couldn't tell what it was. hmmm. we all went on just chatting some more for awhile when brandon spoke up.
"yo porter, i hope it's okay but i invited charlotte." he said, not looking up from his phone. oh god. i looked over at elle, she looked down sadly and fidgeted with her hands.
"whatever i guess" austin said, shrugging.
"watch out y'all, something wicked this way comes if you catch my drift." zion said in an irritated tone. we all laughed and brandon rolled his eyes.
elle's pov
god dammit, i hate that he invited her. i hate that he has a girlfriend, why does he have to be so cute? of course he has a girlfriend. UGH. i gave dahlia the 'lets gtf outta this place' look and she clearly understood.
"so elle, you wanna go n-" she said shortly before she was interrupted by the doorbell ringing. she got up and answered it.
"oh hi, you must be charlotte. i'm dahlia." she said as a girl with light brown hair pushed past her impatiently. she laughed and closed the door in shock at her rudeness.
"okay uh nice to meet you too?" dahlia said loudly. charlotte walked to brandon and sat on his lap.
"hi brandon! who are all these people, and who's the irrelevant girl who answered the door?" charlotte asked in an extremely judgmental tone. dahlia gave me the 'hold my hoops, im finna go apeshit on this thot' look. i laughed to myself and returned my gaze to the rest of the guys. they all seemed extremely annoyed with her presence. i was over this honestly.
"that's dahlia, and that's elle." austin said pointing at us. charlotte laughed and replied,
"no wonder i haven't heard of either of you, you're both juniors i assume. you're nobodies, that's cool." she smiled and giggled. everyone went silent for a minute before returning to the usual conversation. dahlia was definitely not bothered by this rude chick and on a real note, i was feeling the opposite. brandon deserved so much better than this girl, or at least i hope he did.
"imma get sodas and snacks, you guys want anything?" i asked. they all nodded, brandon stood up from his spot.
"i'll come with you." he said, walking near me. i sighed and walked into the kitchen, the door separating the two rooms shutting behind brandon.
