cynthia's pov
my large boots clicked on the hallways of the hellish high school and alongside me was elle. i don't know that she knows what i did with austin, but i honestly can't stop dwelling on it. sure, i thought i liked him, but i feel god awful about trying to take him and then being a bitch to dahlia about it after. i tried to tell elle about everything, but i don't think she fully understood me. either that, or she was silently judging me.
"i think you need to talk to dahlia for real. don't be rude or confrontational, just act normal. i gotta go, but dahlia's class is this door right here so you should wait for her. good luck, cyn. and don't worry, she's not one to hold grudges." elle reassured me, hugging me and walking away. i thanked her and waved while i waited, anxiously fidgeting with my fingers. dahlia and grace walked over to her classroom laughing, the smiles disappearing as soon as they saw me. they looked at each other and tried to walk past me.
"wait, please hear me out. can we talk? i just want a moment." i pleaded. dahlia sighed and walked over to me, grace whispering something in her ear before walking into the classroom past us.
"what do you want?" she asked sternly, staring at the ground.
"i want to say that i'm sorry, d. for real, i don't know how i can possibly explain how awful i feel. i think i realized how messed up it was after you slapped me, but that's not the point. i'd understand if you didn't want to accept my apology, but please know that i'm here if you ever want to fix things." i sighed. she didn't say anything, she just hugged me tightly and i soon hugged back. when she pulled away, she just looked at me.
"i couldn't stay mad, cyn. i'm over it, don't worry, just please don't ever do that shit again." she laughed in relief as we said goodbyes and i walked away.

"how'd it go?" i asked dahli and she walked into the class and sat down next to me.
"we made up. honestly, i'm still kinda sus about her so ima keep an eye out, but i don't care enough to make a situation out of it." she shrugged as i laughed.
"i hate to say it, but i called it. i told you we shouldn't have trusted her." i smirked. dahlia rolled her eyes as i twirled my hair and desperately watched the clock tick on the wall, wishing for the day to be over already. when the bell rung, i walked with dahlia to her locker and we met up with brandon and zion.
"hi, love." i smiled as zion kissed my nose.
"hola, g. cute necklace." he laughed. brandon and dahlia laughed from a distance as we kept talking.
"cute couples, ew." brandon chuckled.
"i know right. how's elle?" she asked, ironically. they laughed and we all walked to our next classes.

"bro, i know. honestly, mrs. anderson can suck a -" edwin was interrupted by brandon walking over and protectively wrapping his arm around me.
"hi babygirl." he grossly kissed me before i pushed away.
"uh, hi brandon." i said, red dancing over my cheeks. edwin, clearly annoyed and uncomfortable, stood up.
"i'm gonna get food, see y'all later." he said, walking away.
"b, is everything okay?" i asked.
"of course, besides the fact that edwin totally likes you." he sighed
"oh my god, brandon. stop being jealous, i'm your girlfriend not edwin's, not anyone else's. you're being so dramatic." i laughed. he rolled his eyes and kissed my cheek. we kept talking and laughing for a few minutes more before i saw grace and zion walking next to each other, austin walking with his arm wrapped around dahlia, and noah and cynthia just chatting while walking.
"have you ever noticed how lit our group is? they just pulled up looking like a five course meal, damn i love our friends." i laughed. brandon agreed, and everyone sat down, including nick and edwin after returning from the lunch line.
"can you guys believe we're graduating in two months?" nick asked, taking a sip from his coke.
"i can hardly wait." cynthia replied. some argued, some agreed, per usual. for the first day of school all together, we were like a happy lil family.
