I wake up in my bed back in the Slytherin girls' dorm. Wait, what? I thought I fell asleep in the woods with Draco... oh, I must have been dreaming. I feel a wave a sadness rush over me and I throw myself back down onto my pillow. It felt so real. How could it have been fake? I can't even remember going to bed last night. I roll over onto my side to see a small envelope sitting on my side table. Confused, I sit up and grab it, opening it. I pull out a small note and read it.
Sorry for not waking you, but you just looked so beautifully peaceful. Meet me back at that same spot tonight after dinner.
~DM
P.S. you're such a heavy sleeper, it's adorable.I feel my heart flutter as I read this. So it wasn't just a dream. This is all really happening. That seems almost more unbelievable than when I thought I'd imagined it all. I smile to myself and turn to check my clock. Shit. I'm late for class.
I join my friends at the table for dinner, still in a daze from what has happened these past few days. I know I'm smiling like an idiot, but I just can't help it. Then I notice that Harry, Ron, and even Hermione are staring at me. My smile shrinks slightly as a I ask "What?" "Where have you been lately?" Ron asks me. "What do you mean? I've been with you guys!" I answer. "No, you have barley been around us since the other night. The other night when you lied about going to the bathroom." Ron says causing my face to turn pink, finding out they knew I had lied. "I went to the girl's bathroom looking for you because you were taking so long. You weren't there." Hermione adds, her tone much softer than Ron's but still accusing. "I, uh, went back to the Slytherin common room." I lie quickly and start eating my food. "Rubbish. You've been my best friend since our first year. I know when you're lying to me." Hermione says. "What is going on with you?" She nearly whispers, sounding sincerely concerned. "Guys, really, I'm fine. There's no need to be worried." I say assuring them, as I mentally note that Harry has been surprisingly quiet on the topic. We all just sit there for a moment, eating our food in silence. I peer over at the Slytherin table, the table I'm supposed to be sitting at but Dumbledore never had a problem with me sitting at the Gryffindor table, knowing they were my only friends. Dumbledore truly is a wonderful man. Even such a small gesture doesn't go unappreciated. What would I do without him? Actually, what would anyone do without him? I catch Draco's eye as he is already looking at me. He gives me a cute little wink before returning to his conversation. I giggle a little and smile ear to ear, earing a strange look from Hermione, but she thankfully just brushed it off. "I'm worried about you." Harry almost yells all of the sudden, breaking the somewhat awkward silence. This takes me back a bit and I find myself at a loss for words. "Harry..." I start to say, but he cuts me off. "Please stop lying to me. I just want to know what is happening with you. Please." I feel awful, but as he finishes his sentence, he grabs my hand tightly, lacing his fingers through mine, and tenderly strokes my cheeks with the other. My face heats up, the situation far too romantic for my liking, or Draco's for that matter. Oh shit, Draco. My head whips over to see Draco staring over at Harry and me, a combination of shock, sadness, and rage filling his eyes before he gets up and flees the dinning hall. His friends watch him with confused faces and so does nearly everyone else in the room, including my friends. Harry's hand drops from my cheek as he focuses on Draco's strange behavior, but his other hand still grasps mine. "What do you suppose that was all about?" Ron questions, still looking off in the direction Draco just ran. Without a second thought I jump out of my seat and start to run after Draco, but Harry still has a firm grip on my hand. I turn to look at him and he looks so shocked and hurt. "Why in the bloody hell are you running after Malfoy?" Ron asks. I don't have time to answer and I tear myself away from Harry's grasp and run after Draco, glancing back at my friends to see a single tear fall down Harry's cheek.
