Sodapop's POV: I was sleeping on the couch when Ponyboy was sick, Darry has a rule, if one of us gets sick the other has to sleep on the couch until the other one gets better, because he can't take off work and take care of both of us, and if he gets sick he miss work, and less pay. Once my girlfriend Sandy gave me Mono, and I was sick with Mono for two weeks and Darry was so worried he quarantined me, in the bedroom. Ponyboy's friends from school came by to see him, and by the time Darry got home, the doctor just walked through the door to check on Ponyboy. We were with them in the room, as the doctor checked him. How is he doc? Darry asked. Still has a fever. He said. He's not eating, we tried to give anything chicken, bread, soup he keeps saying I don't like baloney, he thinks everything we give him is baloney. I said. That's understandable. He said taking his blood pressure. And he keeps calling for us, me, Soda, our parents, and Johnny. Darry said. That expected, give him this, and the fever should go down. He said give me the median. Thank you doctor. Darry said shaking his hand. Goodbye Ponyboy. He said leaving our room. Bye, Johnny. He said. Alright it says give him one spoon full of this stuff. I said giving it to Darry. He went to the kitchen to get a spoon. Darry, I want Darry. I heard Ponyboy say. He's coming, Pony. I said. This was a first, he never called for Darry accepted for when the socs jumped him once. He came in with a big spoon full with median. Come Ponyboy drink this. He said. No I don't like baloney. He said. Soda hold his nose. He said. No, you do it. I said. Sodapop Patrick Curtis. He said using my full name. Fine, i'll do it. I said going up to him. I went and grabbed his nose and he opened his mouth, as Darry poured the medicine down. I really hated to do this to him.
