I'm extremely sorry for the delay but hope this chapter makes it up to you guys *Hart hart*
Aria's POV:
I smiled at the picture.
10 years ago:
"Oh Aria my darling!" My mom hugged me. "Is was so scared. I thought i- I lost you." She cupped my face. "Dear, I told you to say near the swings,"
My head bent down in shame. "I saw balloons and-" I couldn't meet her eyes. "And there were puppies too." She shook her head.
"You could tell me Aria." I nodded, looking down.
"I'm sorry mom."
"It's okay," she looked down at the sleeping Lydia. "Do you wanna say here for more time or shall we go home now?"
I looked around. "Just two minutes mom." I ran from there where he was standing. The boy who pointed out my mom from the crowd.
"Hey." I tapped his shoulder. He was playing with another kid who probably looked around Lydia's age or older than her. I smiled sweetly at the kid who nuzzled in the boy's chest. "Thank you so much." It was my turn to smile at the boy. "You helped me a lot."
He returned the smile and like a gentleman he said. "Pleasure is all mine." I sighed and began to take off his cap as I was going.
"And thanks for your cap-"
"No no." He raised palms, stopping me from taking it off. "Keep it." The kid who I assume was his little brother looked at him and then at me. "It's okay." The boy smiled.
"But-"
"Consider this as the gift from the stranger." I smiled shyly and looked down.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome." He looked back. "I need to go my mom is waiting." My smile faded. Will we meet again?
And like he heard it.
"We will meet again." With that he ran bidding a bye. I was there, watching him running away and then I realized that I didn't even asked for his name.
Stupid, stupid Aria!
Present:
I ran my fingers on the cap and chuckled, shaking my head. Soon a small smiled appeared on my lips, my eyes closed.
10 years ago:
I took of the cap as we reached home and there I noticed that it was folded from inside when I looked inside, there was this small picture of him smiling at the camera.
I smiled and took out the picture.
"Hello stranger."
Present:
"I came everyday after that day to find you," I said, looking at the picture. "Even my mom was confused that I hated parks then how come I started to love them that I want to go daily?" A small chuckle left my mouth.
"I never imagined that we will be connected like this," I smiled. "Shawn...."
I closed my eyes and hugged the picture along with the cap. "My stranger!"
***
I was running on the streets. It was almost midnight but I cared less. I had the picture and cap in my hands and people who saw me probably thought that I was so ready to meet someone special.
It was true.
I didn't even know what I was going to say to him or what will be my reaction to see him.
I was meeting him after 10 years.
So many questions wee running in my mind like how he looked now? probably A young grown boy handsome boy. I blushed at the thoughts. He was so cute in his childhood.
Will he still give me the same smile he gave then?
I was a nervous wreck.
I stopped on the streets Infront of the fountains which was now constructed in place of the park. There were several shops constructed around the fountain as they ended the park 5 years ago.
I looked around, the cap and the guitar chain was still in my hand. The pendent was wrapped around my wrist.
He told me to find him by myself.
I knew he was somewhere around cause my rising heartbeat was giving me all the vibes.
I was just looking around when my eyes stuck on something among the crowd.
The white rose.
I instantly remembered the letter in which he once told me that he will bring the white rose.
My feet began to move fast as I tried to apprach the person from the crowd but I got no one. I blinked and looked around . Was it me or there was someone with the white rose?
I ended up standing on the other sure of the fountain right in front of the glassed perfumed shop which was decorated with lights.
I sighed and looked down at the picture.
"Where are you Shawn?"
My breath hitched.
As I sensed the presence of someone behind me.
My body stilled, eyes on the ground but widen slightly.
His breath was fanning against my ear.
His hand came in touch with mine and slowly I felt his fingers were tracing the guitar pendant before a white rose was being slided in my hand.
His fingers were still touching mine.
And then he whispered in my ear.
"Took you long enough to find me..."
