Chapter 22

Two hours later and there was a knock at my door. I jumped and looked over at Nathan. I was scared to open it. What if it was some crazy fangirl? “I’ll go answer it, Soph.” Nathan got up, opened it and I heard a familiar voice at the door. It was Jayne. I breathed a sigh of relief. Nathan, Jayne and Big Kev made their way into my bedroom. I know I had only met her once before, but seeing Jayne there made me feel better. I got up off the bed and threw my arms around her. She just seemed so motherly and I needed her to know how much I appreciated her showing up to help.

Jayne spoke in a quiet voice: “Sophie, darling everything is going to be alright. Big Kev and I have worked out a plan to help you okay?” I pulled away from her and nodded. Jayne started speaking again: “Now about the girls outside of your door, Kevin here has informed the police and they should be arriving shortly to make the girls leave. In the mean time, Kev why don’t you tell Sophie about plan to make sure she remains safe here.”

Big Kev looked over at me and said: “Right, so here’s the plan Sophie, the police can get those girls to leave but unfortunately there’s always a chance that they will be back again. We need to make sure that there is no way they can break their way into your house. It’s unlikely that they will do that, but we need to take precautions against it anyways. I’m going to install a security system that will alert you if anyone is to break in. If you’re not at home and somebody gets in, you’ll be alerted and the police will automatically be called.”

“Kevin and I think that between the police and the security system, you should be okay and the girls will leave you alone. However, darling, if for some reason these girls are still standing outside your door, I will notify the press and have it be made known that anyone caught standing outside your door will be arrested.”

My eyes widen a bit. “But Jayne, isn’t that a bit extreme? And won’t these girls only hate me even more after that?”

“Well, darling we’re hoping it won’t have to come to that. So Big Kev is going to start installing the security system and then you should be fine to stay here tonight. Now I’m afraid I have to be going, there’s a meeting I need to be at. But Sophie and Nathan please keep me informed with what’s going on and ring me if there’s anymore problems, alright?”

Jayne left and Big Kev got to work on installing the security system. It took him a little over an hour to install. After he finished, he showed both Nathan and I how it worked. I felt a bit better knowing that I now had a security system installed. Big Kev also gave me his mobile number so I would be able to contact him at anytime. Making sure I would be okay one last time, Big Kev left and it was just Nathan and I again. Once Kev was out the door, Nathan pulled me into a huge hug. “I’m so sorry about all of this babe.”

“It’s okay Nath, I feel better now that Big Kev put in the security system.”

A girl who must have been outside of my door still screamed out “Nathan is mine!!!” I cringed. That was the first girl who had actually yelled out. I hoped any other girls who were still out there didn’t start doing that. The police needed to get rid of them soon. The fact that these girls were taking the time to stand outside my door like that was ridiculous.

Nathan must have noticed how I cringed because he said: “Soph, I’m going to spend the night here again to make sure nothing happens okay?”

I smiled. I was hoping he would stay again. I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. “Thanks, Nathan. That makes me feel a lot better.” I was actually looking forward to bedtime now. I loved snuggling up against Nathan at night. A sudden wave of positivity rushed through me. Jayne and Big Kev had formed a plan that should get rid of those girls and Nathan was staying with me for the night. What had seemed so awful and hopeless a few hours ago was now starting to turn around. For all I knew tomorrow maybe more people would start to accept mine and Nathan’s relationship and we would stop getting hated on for it.
