Chapter 27

Everyone finished eating around 8.45. After piling all the dishes in the sink to be washed later, we all gathered round the living room ready to set up for the ustream. Jay started to talk: “Right, so I think we should just start out telling them what we’ve been doing this week. It’ll be like a little preview to this weeks flip.” He paused for a moment to look over at Nathan and I before he continued to speak. “And then somehow Nathan, you’ll have to introduce Sophie to everyone.”

“Yeah but mate, shouldn’t I bring up the fact that a lot of them have been pretty rude to her and well, me as well?”

Max looked over at Nathan and started to speak, ignoring his question completely: “I think maybe we should just start it out with only me, Jay, Tom and Seev behind the camera, and then when everyone asks where Nathan is, we turn the screen and show Nathan and Sophie together.”

My mouth formed a small “o” in surprise. “What?? Max, are you sure that’s a good idea? They’ll just get mad seeing us together like that.”

“But Sophs babe, they need to see you two together. They need to start accepting it. Seeing me with my girlfriend Kelsey, and Max and Siva with their girls helped the fans accept our relationships. Once they get used to seeing you and Nath together, they’ll be fine.”

I nodded my head slowly, knowing that what Tom had said was probably right. It’s what Jay had told me earlier and the rest of the boys seemed to agree. I looked over at Nathan. Talking to everyone in the room I said: “Okay, so I’ll do it. But how do Nath and I make sure that whenever you guys film us it doesn’t look staged?”

Siva clapped his hands together. “Oh! That’s easy! You two should be in the kitchen making tea. The fans all know Nath likes his tea, and well us lads know you like tea Sophie, but now the fans will learn that too.”

I looked over at Nathan again who shrugged his shoulders and said: “Sounds like a plan to me.”

Jay jumped off the couch suddenly. “Right you two, get into the kitchen and start making that tea. We’ll warn you when we’re coming in just in case you lovebirds decide to have sex or something.”

I raised my eyebrows and screamed “JAY!” while Nathan yelled out “MATE!” at the same time.

“HAHAHA joking you two, just joking.”

Everyone in the room cracked up for a few moments before Nath and I headed into the kitchen. From behind the counter we heard Max say loudly, “We’ll let ya know when we start broadcasting!”

Nathan and I both replied “okay” back and then started getting stuff out to make the tea. He gave me a goofy smile and I smiled back at him in return. I looked up at the clock on the wall, 9.25. It wouldn’t be long until they started their ustream. The butterflies were already starting to build up in my stomach. I really hoped Nathan and I could pull this off. Suddenly, I heard Jay call out “Starting the broadcast now!”
