My body sinks uncomfortably against the soft but scratchy seat of the airplane, my knees knocking together as I look out the tiny oval window, my mind finally realizing just what the fuck I'm doing. I take a deep breath in as Stephanie sits next to me, her body squished between me and some large man- who's already sleeping.

This is crazy, Steph.❞ My voice comes out quiet, and I grip the tiny arm rest as I stare at the screen that's placed on the back of the chair in front of me. I can feel Stephanie shift a little closer to me, and I look over towards her- seeing the man try to place his large head on her shoulder- which she's dodging now.

❝No, you know what's crazy? ❞ she shoots me a small apologetic gaze as she dodges the mans falling head once more. I look up at her, waiting for her response. She laughs slightly, which mingles in with her sentence. ❝ I was obsessed with Dlyan Ang, how the hell did you not punch me?❞ A loud laugh leaves my lips as I shake my head at her, my hand slapping against my knee as she laughs with me.❝Yeah, I wanted to- but you didn't know. ❞  My sentence gets cut short as the flight attendents file In the aisle way, small smiles on their faces as they go through safety procedures for us. Stephanie grabs my hand as they tell us we will be departing shortly. ❝Are you ready? ❞ I grip her hand tightly, our bodies shifting as the plane backs away from the loading port. I give her a reassuring squeeze as my eyes follow the tarmac from outside, and I smile a little. I'm actually fucking doing this. ❝ Yeah, I'm ready.

FLASHBACK

❝Angela, I know you probably don't want to hear this but-❞ My mothers voice haults to a stop as she enters my room. Her eyes find my body, which is sprawled lazily on my bed, music playing loudly in my ears. I don't notice her until she's standing in front of me, my eyes widening as I take an ear bud out. ❝What's up ma? ❞ She sits her body gently on the edge of my bed, a small sad smile that doesn't reach her eyes is planted on her face. I sit up, taking the other headphone out and pausing my music as I look at her cautiously. ❝Ma? ❞ She's twisting her wedding ring around her thin finger, a habit she does when she's nervous. ❝I just wanted to update you on something-someone,❞ she corrects, and I groan a little. I know she means Dylan. If It was anything else, she'd be spilling me the details all at once. ❝Just say whatever it is. ❞ I mumle, twisting my headphone in between my thumb and index finger. She sighs loudly, and words rush out of her mouth. ❝I was watching TV, and saw an ad for this new tv show called Teen Wolf, and it showed him Ang. He's in it. I looked it up online, and he's one of the main characters. ❞ She gave another sad smile, her words filled with a little pride as she finished her sentence. My shoulders tensed as I registered her words, my eyes moving from her face to my bed spread. My nose scrunching up as I scoffed. of course he's doing fine, he couldn't just suffer and come back like I wanted him to.
