Margo and Antonio's Love Story

Meeting Her Parents

Later that day after one of Margo's classes, she had to tell Antonio something

"Hey Antonio, can I ask you you something?"

"Anything"

"Okay, here goes...Since we're dating, I was wondering if you could come over to my house so you can meet my family? tonight?"

"sure"

"Thanks. It'll be easy for Agnes, it might take Edith a little time to adjust, it'll be really easy for my mom, but my dad...but I can get Melissa to come! Oh and you can bring Angel, too! I'm sure -"

"Margo, don't worry. I'll be fine. And I'll tell Angel. I'm sure she'll be happy to go to your house and meet your sisters"

"okay. so I'll see you at 7?"

"si . I'll see you in class, amor" he said as he kissed her on the cheek.

Melissa walked toward Margo.

"What did I miss?"

"Oh nothing much, just that I wanted Antonio to come over to my house to meet my family, and I might have said that you'd come too so my dad would be easy on him..."

"What?"

"And I told him he could bring Angel..."

"Margo, what you said was right, since you guys are dating, but do you think maybe he might be freaking?"

"Why would he be freaking? when I told him he was still he cool, suave self ..."

Margo started picturing Antonio talking to her again, when she zoned out and looked dumbly at the ceiling.

"Margo?"

Margo kept staring at the ceiling.

"Earth to Margo!"

"oh, uh... Sorry... just zoned out a bit..."

"Anyway, he might have looked all cool on the outside, but hopefully inside is the same"

"what do you mean?"

"He could be acting like, all cool and stuff, but he might be freaking inside"

"So what?"

"Well if you already asked him to come over, then tell your dad he's coming over and ask him if he can, you know take it easy on your boyfriend"

"but he'll never listen! he doesn't believe that I can protect myself or make my own decisions"

"Well, at least try"

"Okay fine. So you still coming over for dinner?"

"Of course I am! You did invite Angel too right?"

"Of course I did! She's so much fun! I bet Edith and Agnes will love her!"

"Ya. Well better go."

Margo walked to Mrs. Smith's class with Melissa. All she could think about was what Antonio might be thinking about what they said. Did I make it hard? Margo thought. I hope my dad doesn't scare him off and then breaks up with me...

Mrs. Smith said "Margo? Margo?"

"oh umm...Sorry, I wasn't listening..."

Mrs. Smith rolled her eyes "Do you know the answer to this equation?"

"Yes"

"Would you please come up here and solve it?"

"Yes ma'am"
