~6 Months Later~

Lara's POV

The manor's repairs have finally come to an end after the fire that my doppelgänger, under Natla's orders, put six months ago. This past six months have been hard on us all; the manor's burn down, finding out were my mother was and having to kill her, learning who was behind my fathers death and Alister's demise.

It is true that I wanted to know the truth no matter what it may have been and was ready to face it. All the while not carrying about how hard or painful it'd be. And just like everything, it came with a price. It seems I wasn't as ready as I thought I were. And I paid for it.

Zip and Winston, just like me, are trying to get over what happened,  though it's not as easy as some would think. Even after all those months.

Sigh.... Maybe Zip was right. Maybe this was just business as always.  Maybe... Maybe I should stop going around the world adventuring and instead settle down. Alister's death, in a sense, was in my hands if you think about it. And now Natla is gone. Forever this time. Meaning, I won't have to worry about her trying to ruin my life and destroy the world as we know it again and with me finally getting what I strived so hard to get since my nine years; the truth.

I followed in my father's footsteps for one reason only, to discover the truth behind my mother and later father's, deaths. Adventuring has no real importance now. So why continue doing it? Especially when I have nothing to gain from it anymore?

It's high time I finally put all of this behind me and focus on affairs concerning the manor and my title as Countess of Abbingdon.

Yours always,
Lara

'Knock''Knock'

"Come in." I answered evenly.

"Lady Croft," Oh, it was only Winston, "Dinner is ready. Would you prefer to have it in your quarters or the dining room?"

"Here please." I replied, still looking to the journal I was just writing in.

"My Lady, what has happened to you?"

At this I lifted an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"

"Since your final confrontation with Natla and miss Evert you have been locked in your chambers for the most part. Both myself and Zip are worried that those last events have taken their toil on you."

He couldn't see it, but I actually had a small smile on my face.

"Winston I was wondering...what would you say if I were to stop?"

Without even having to turn around, I could imagine the inquisitive look on his face.

"What do you mean my Lady?"

Here goes nothing.

"I mean, what if I were to stop traveling. You know adventuring around the world." I clarified, "What would you think?" I asked, turning towards his direction to look at his face.

Just as expected he was stunned.
'Hm, he honestly hadn't seen that coming, had he?'

Snapping out of his frozen state, he answered.

"Lara what are you talking about?" Oh, heh. He called me by my first name. He usually does this when his means business.

"Exactly what you heard me saying Winston. Wasn't I clear enough?" I inquired, quite rudely might I add.

"Yes you were, but why on earth would you even suggest such a thing? Archaeology and adventuring had  always been your passion. The things you loved to do most!" He argued, completely ignoring the rudeness in my voice.

"I was thinking that..." Sigh, "That what's the point of continuing if there is nothing to acquire anymore. I got the answers I craved for. There's nothing left for me to gain."

The room fell in silence. So silent you could hear a pin drop.

Winston, after taking a good look at me, gave his reply.

"Lara, as you know I've always supported you. Especially since both your parents demise and I will continue to support you until you no longer need me to. I never have asked you, my Lady for anything, but this time I must." Taking a deep breath he said, "I only have one request; do not take any decision without first thinking every aspect thoroughly. Do you understand Lara?" He pointly finished.

A nod. That's the only answer I gave.

"Very well. Now, would like to join us for dinner Lady Croft?"

Rolling my eyes I replied with a, 'Yeah, yeah.' And we were of to the dining room.

I was currently in the home cinema room watching anime and I know what you all must be thinking, 'Seriously? Anime? Someone your age?'

Well blame Zip!

That bloody idiot wouldn't stop bothering me till I watched at least one whole anime! And by whole I mean at least one whole season.

Anyway. As I was saying I'm currently, comfortably sat on one of the big armchairs watching an anime called Black Butler. It's quite good actually. The accents were spot on and the Victorian England exactly the way it would look back in the 19th century. I would know. I'm an archaeologist after all and my father before me, but most importantly a British.

I was now finishing the last episode of the first season and I must admit I'm impressed. And let it be noted that I'm not easily impressed. The characters were all very interesting, although some really annoyed me because they thought they could get away with everything they did without consequence. As a whole though, the series was impressive and imaginative.

I'm starting the second season and I, admit, am looking forward to see how the next one will play out.

'Finally' I thought tiredly, 'I'm finished with the anime.' All in all, it was good. The storyline was very well written and it reminded me so much of my life. I feel bad for the younger characters though; Ciel and Alois. Their pasts were traumatizing and as such molded them to who they are. No one, especially a child, should go through all that. And as I said, the story reminded me so much of my life, that had me actually connect to their characters most. But, there is one thing that annoyed me a lot about the both of them; these two little brats thinking that they can do everything, because they have their demon butlers backing them up. Hm. I'd like to see them do any of the things they've done without their butlers. Or any of the things I do.

Anywho. It's past midnight and I should really be going to bed or else Winston will have my head if he wakes up and finds me out of bed. He may not seem like it, but he can be pretty scary when he wants to. And that comes from someone who has seen some of the, supposedly, most terrifying creatures, both known and unknown to mankind.

Author's POV

Lara went to bed that night feeling quite pleasant. Maybe it was because she enjoyed the anime or maybe because she could relate to the two youngest characters the most. We'll never know. Or at least not yet.

Too bad our beloved archaeologist didn't know what she would be in for the very next day. She, along with the other two occupants of the manor were in for a big surprise.

To be continued...

A/N
Hey guys this, as you can tell, is my second story and it's a crossover. A crossover between one of the most loved games in history and one of the most loved anime/manga in history as well. I've read a lot of crossovers and I saw that very few Tomb Raider crossovers exist. So why not write one? In my mind I thought it quite humorous if the most badass  archeologist ever known were to meet the Black Butler crew and teach them a small lesson. Especially the supernatural characters and that lesson being that just because they are more powerful than humans, that doesn't mean they should underestimate us. And Lara Croft is just the right person for the job!

Hope you enjoy!!! 💛
