----------BRIETTA----------

“Wake up Brie! It’s Saturday! We have to enjoy the weekend and not just spend it in sleeping!” a deep male voice said excitedly at me.

I groaned as a 220-pound body bounced on my bed. Even before I opened my eyes, I already knew who disturbed me from my peaceful sleep. I sleepily grabbed the desk clock on my bedside table and I grumbled as I discovered that it is still 6:30 in the morning. Uggghh!! What has gotten into me to have a crazy man for a best friend?

“Oh man! Seriously?? Have a life. It’s still very early.” I said as I grabbed a pillow and burrowed it on my face.

A few seconds passed and there was no sign of movement so I assumed that he already left me alone. I was about to go back to sleep when someone grabbed the pillow and poured ice cold water on my face. I sat bolt upright on my bed surprised. I didn’t expect that!

“Good morning sleeping beauty!” Dwight said teasingly at me. His gray eyes twinkling with delight as he was seeing me with a shocked expression on my face. I stared at him in utter disbelief glaring at the face that would have been gorgeously handsome if it was not masked by big pudgy cheeks.

“What’s good in the morning if the first thing you encounter when you wake up is your own face dripping wet with water!” I said to him faking an angry look.

“It’s good because you don’t need to take a bath after.” He said matter-of-factly.

“oh! Right! I haven’t thought of that.” I said to him sarcastically.

“Yeah! Cause I’m smarter than you.” He said sticking his tongue at me.

“You have the guts to say that to me because your body is three times my whole body. I can’t fight you because even if I push you, you would not even be budged. You’re taking advantage of your big body.”

Dwight faked his face to be hurt. “now, now! Don’t get too personal. I know I’m fat. What could I do? I love eating. Old habits are hard to change.” He said clutching his chest to give emphasis on his point.

I laughed. “I’m so sorry to hurt your feelings Mr. Fat-face but it’s the truth. What was that saying again?” I pretended to think of the right sentence to say.  “Oh yeah! The truth hurts.” I said wiggling my eyebrows at him.

“Whatever. Your teasing won’t work on me because I’m used to it. I have been dealing with it ever since we became best friends for who knows how long.”
