I woke up and wondered why the sun was shining through a window on me. I blinked once and heard someone breathing next to me. It was Hayden, wonderful Hayden. My heart hammered in my chest just watching him sleeping.

“Psssst!” I glanced up at the whispered voice and realised I was sleeping in my bed, in my room at Hayden’s house. Had none of that just happened? Did I meet my father? I shook my head in confusion.

“Psssst!” I looked towards where the voice was only to see the Goddess gesturing to me. I stumbled out of bed trying not to disturb Hayden and followed her into the kitchen.

“Hey my little Ellie. Sorry to interrupt but I need to have a chat.” She told me seriously and I couldn’t escape my thinking from before I blacked out.

“You’re Charlie aren’t you?” I blurted out and she looked at me with a wry smile but she nodded.

“When you next see younger Charlie you need to tell her what you know because she has absolutely no idea.” She said before chortling “Trust me when I say you will shock her speechless for a short while. Actually it scared the crap out of me but tell her anyway."

“So what did you need?” I asked only to see her face fall into a deep despair which made me feel instantly anxious. I tensed up with apprehension just knowing there was bad news coming.

“I’m sorry Ellie. I can’t change anything because for some bizarre reason you are static in time. You are stuck having to live your life exactly as it is meant to go.” She babbled and I had no idea what she was getting at.

“What do you mean?” I asked her in confusion and she looked at me seriously.

“Ellie you know how I tried to go back in time yesterday?” She asked and I nodded wondering what she was trying to tell me.

“Don’t feel bad about this alright but I’m pretty sure you were the reason why I couldn’t.”

“I don’t understand.” I said quietly starting to feel a sickly sensation in the depths of my stomach.

“Ellie you can’t be moved in time. That’s why you and I will be the only ones that know the truth about yesterday.” She explained sadly.

“So that all actually happened?” I asked feeling shock rush through me.

“Yes it did and I can’t change that for you. I had to do a Flicker in Time and we are the only two that will know the truth.” She shook her head and I almost waited for her to start pacing anxiously.

“But my Father?” I stopped short and she managed a small smile.

“He will not remember being trapped. He is once again the leader of the Ilgon and the newer Elders have replaced the lost ones. The village has been restored and life is what it previously was. Your Father understood that you wanted to come back here, he accepted it and wishes that you will visit him often.” She explained and I sighed with relief.

“Yes of course I will.” I murmured, feeling slightly better that we were the only ones to remember the horror of that day.

“Ellie there is one more thing.” Her words stopped me from feeling so relieved and brought back the panic especially when she started pacing.

“Please just tell me.” I finally said starkly, needing to know the truth.

“You haven’t seen the last of Selenia or Bryant, the one who called himself the King. Your premonitions are going to come true and I think it’s one of the reasons why I can’t move you through time.” She told me with a curse under her breath.
