I lay awake in bed, still not used to my surroundings

I lay awake in bed, still not used to my surroundings. Even though the house is very familiar, the first day here I'm never able to sleep.

With a sigh, I then get up out of bed and change into my swimsuit. Might as well go for a swim.

I tip-toe out of the house with a towel and a water bottle in hand making sure to not wake anyone up. I exit through the sliding doors from the kitchen and out onto the backyard where our pool is. We may live in a beach house, but we still have a pool.

Once at the pool, I lay my towel out on the lawn chair and place my water bottle at the end of the chair.

Then with a deep breath I dive into the pool. For a while, I do a few laps, do handstands, flips and finally just float around.

As I float around with my eyes closed, my eyes snap open from a deep voice.

"Myra, is that you?" I look up and spot our next door neighbour Chase leaning over the short white fence.

"Yeah, hey Chase." I say as I pull myself out of the pool.

I then look over at Chase and he's still as hot as that last time I saw him. His brown hair looks effortlessly perfect, his sharp jawline is no longer clean, but covered in stubble, and his shirt is tight on his muscular body.

"Can't sleep?" he asks as he then hops over the fence and sits on the lawn chair beside the one with my towel on it. I then grab my towel and start to dry myself off.

"You know it." I say as I then sit in the chair with my towel over me.

"Ya know, I've never asked." Is start as I turn over to the attractive boy.

"What?" He asks as he turns his face over to me.

"Why are you always awake at this time?" I ask as I watch the stars above me.

"Because I know you're out here at this time." Chase tells me winking making me roll my eyes but smile at him.

"Whatever you say loser." I say as I punch him in his shoulder. Chase then grabs my chair and drags it closer to him. He then wraps his arm around my shoulder.

When Mitch and I were younger and came to the beach house with our family, we would always play witch Chase. But that all ended when Mitch got mad at Chase for something stupid and they stopped talking, but chase and I kept in touch. One night when I was twelve, I went out for my late night swims and Chase ended up joining me. From then on, Chase would either come say hi or join me for a swim.
