Chapter 2
The school bell rang, signaling the end of school. Jack, from the school football team, jogs up to me and asks "are you coming to Burger World with us?"
I reply "sure, but first I'm going to the lake."
"The lake? Why?"
"To meet some one there, hopefully."
"Who? A girl?" Jack says with a smirk.
"Yes. A girl." I say annoyed.

I see ripples moving across the surface of the lake, what's swimming in there, or who? No one is allowed to swim in the lake, and I am pretty sure no one is crazy enough to swim in it anyway, there are signs all around the lake, warning us of the polluted waters, because of the big stupid factory that they have built many years back, which has shut down when I was just learning to ride my bike, thank goodness for that. But why would someone be swimming in that lake, it is full of thick muck and there is not a single living thing in that lake. Not even a rat would think twice about going near that lake. Trust me, I know what it's like, I've swam in it many years back, as a dare, when it wasn't this bad.
