There seemed no hope for Hal Emmerich. A genius engineer, wanted to be hired by every R&D team in the world, was sprawled in sheer shame upon the ground of an anime convention, with his only hope having abandoned him there. His Gundam-robot outfit was starting to go wrong in some places, after all the activity it had faced. It was quite a few minutes until the crowd got bored of watching the clown who had failed. They began to move around again, and the happy voices resumed chattering.

But Otacon kept lying there. In his mind was running through grief. He didn't even want to try to stand up and show his face to all that had seen the mishappening. But he couldn't lie there forever, could he...? He sighed into the grass, and started to stumble up in his heavy costume.

He took off the helm and held it under the crook of his arm. He was just going to breathe, and forget it all. "I wonder where David and Sunny went..." Hal mumbled, wiping away a quick tear. He took a deeper sigh, and tried to smile. He checked the special pocket in his suit. Phone, wallet, all intact. He'll buy some merchandise to comfort himself, then set off for the hotel. He won't call Snake, of course not.

Makes you sound like a person who just pulled off a one-night stand.
Im not you..
*COUGH.*

Half an hour later, Otacon was clutching a big bag of goodies and was feeling much better. He went to the food stall and bought an ice lolly (as orange in color as an egg yolk?), then began to walk towards the exit. He didn't feel like sticking around for any other activities; people were still giving him glances. Just before exiting, he threw the empty lolly stick into a trash bin and nonchalantly resumed his way. It was 2:00 in the afternoon now. Not as late as he would have wanted at any other time...

Stop rambling like a princess writing in her journal already.
..

He stood in the parking lot and smacked his head. "They must have taken the car!!!" he whispered in despair. Was he going to use public transport using guesswork? In his Gundam costume? While holding a bag full of anime figures and novelties? His knees clanked together. The prospect was terrifying... but he still couldn't call Snake. He won't give up just yet. "It's not over yet!" he mumbled, then immediately realized what he had said. "Never be game over...? Darn, not right, either...." he stomped his foot noisily. What was he going to do??

My boy was growing up.
..

Hal went over to some steps, and with great difficulty, sat down. Tears were again welling up in his eyes. "Why did he... of all people..." he whispered. He began rambling under his breath, to try to make sense of everything. "I thought he... always helped people... not abandon them..."
"Just... left me there, y'know? On the ground, with everyone staring... it's so unfair... he even took Sunny... like he didn't trust me with her!"
His face began to flush with anger.
"Maybe Raiden was right about the guy... I bet he thinks... I'm a little baby he has to take care of... with all my toys... gaaahh!!! I'll prove him wrong!!" For a moment he steeled himself to find his own way. But then faltered again.

He was sure the car wasn't there, and the second pair of car keys in his odd pocket were worthless.

"He's no benevolent man! All he does is his job, dammit!!"
"I don't care about him anymore. He can go to hell for all I worry!" His words were very loud and frenzied. People passing by began to stare again. For the first time in his life, Hal actually glared at everyone. "Screw you all..." he whispered, careful to make sure he couldn't be overheard by an English speaker.

Suddenly, his phone rang.

"Dave".

Hal very hesitantly picked it up, in complete despair. "The car. Stat. Don't keep us waiting any longer." A squeaky female wail could be heard in the background, then some irritated mumbling. The line was soon cut.
See.
Sorry..
