Chromia's Pov

Camp was over before I knew it and we were scheduled to return to base. Well I was quite happy as the mosquitoes that camped with us weren't very friendly and what was far worse was to actually pretend as though they affected me.

Also, at the rate we were trained in the last four months I'm quite surprised we were still alive. It was as though they were training us to be savages but in the human sphere I understood that method completely. Humans were selfish beings and on the grounds of battle that was often revealed. I understood Hol's and Morgan's methodology completely and it was extremely successful.

Hell, even Anderson and Myra toughened up a bit and Hol stopped at nothing to have our aims perfect. Morgan on the other hand gave us all the thick skin we needed. As soon as I exited the bus with my luggage I was drawn into a bear hug by Arcee, my sister's fragrance filling my nostrils.

I tightened my hold on my younger sister with a smile, my lips on her hair. Glad to see you too Cee...

"How have you been?" I was eager to hear her story and just how much she actually missed me for being away for so long.

"It was amazing because I got to train another team alongside my lover" She stated. "It was really the last two months when I joined him because Bee saw me as his 'little distraction' when the idea was first proposed by Sangster. However, I like the experience of being in the wild and sharing what I know" she continued and I cocked an optic ridge (brow).

If Bee and Arcee were not couple goals I had no idea what couple goals were.

"Well I had a fun time too, only the mosquitoes I didn't enjoy so much" I told her with a wink and she chuckled knowing just how little the insects actually bothered us.

"And Morgan? How did you survive that asshole?" She asked and I looked around for the man in question.

"Shhh, are you trying to get me a nice bowl of punishment?" I asked and she chuckled and whispered the word 'sorry'.

"But I am truly curious, how was it?" She asked again in a far softer tone.

"Well I did survive, the female trainer was quite cool. I hated hiking as I had a huge slip up but it was a good experience." I told her and I swallowed when I reflected on what occurred within that cave and in his tent. I was tempted to share my troubles but I promised Shockwave that I would not do so.

I believe he promised the very same thing.

She patted my back.

"Well thank god for Hol, she is such a sweetheart and that you didn't come back broken" she stated as she helped me with my luggage. Oh but I did return broken, I gave myself to another man while I was far from over my dead husband.

"Come on, Star is waiting for us in the visiting area" Arcee told me as we headed towards my dorm in order to have my luggage dropped off. I was rather swift in doing so because before I knew it we were making our way towards my youngest sibling.

As soon as Star saw us she smiled at Emanuel in her lap and pointed towards us. He sprang out of Star's lap in excitement and ran towards us with a huge smile. I smiled too, would you look at my little boy.

I had gone months without holding my baby.

"Ma!" He yelled and I kneeled so he could run into my arms. I kissed his shoulder length black hair, my hands on his little cheeks.

"Awe, you had a son? He's so cute!" Myra said from behind me and I smiled up at her.

"Isn't he the best? This is Ciara my sister, Cee this is my friend Myra. Come on Myra I want you to meet my baby sister" I stated and we headed over to Star who wore a sad smile. We had not been as close as before and while I showed nothing it bothered my sister deeply.
