CHAPTER ONE

Elli stuffed more popcorn into her mouth as the film began. Mouthless Wonders was probably the best movie she'd watched since Matthew broke up with her two weeks ago. Just thinking about him made her angry. "Stupid little--" she began. "shhhh!" the couple behind her glared at Elli.  The intro music for the movie started. Elli settled in just as the little kid behind her sneezed. "Ew!" Elli cried as she felt snot in her hair. Everything has been horrible since the breakup, Elli thought. As she made her way to the bathroom to clean up, she heard the movie start.  Elli sighed and pulled out her phone. unless her bestie was dead or asleep, she could be located on her phone anywhere and anytime.  HELP!! IT'S A DISASTER  HERE!! she texted Amber.  Elli looked at the clock. a loud BUZZ filled the silent bathroom.  just rented the movie. come over 2 my house 4 a pity party complete w/ ice cream. Elli smiled. Amber ALWAYS made her feel better. 

"Wait, so lemme get this straight. Jordan only asked you out on a DARE?!" Elli laughed. "YEAH!! can you believe I had a crush on him since 7th grade?!" Amber fumed.  "wow. we've eaten 4 cans of ice cream already and the movie hasn't even started! hashtag, a new record!!" Elli laughed. "well let's start it already!" Amber said, opening the disc. 

12 minutes later

"OMG look! my favorite scene is coming up!" Elli screamed. "no way! you mean the scene where Lana meets Derek?!" Amber gasped. "of course! it has GOT to be the most romantic scene there!"  "I'm sorry, have we met before?"  "are you Mr.  Wolf?" "please! call me Derek!"   "it's so beautiful!" Amber said.  Elli looked at the time on her phone. "oh no!" she gasped. "it's 1: 20! mom's gonna KILL me." she groaned. "see ya at your funeral." Amber said, not taking her eyes off the screen.

"mom?" Elli whispered-shouted. "it's 1: 30. where were you?!" Her mother said, glaring at Elli. "you said you were going to be home around 11." her father said sternly. "I-" "I don't want to hear any excuses. go to your room." SLAM!!  Elli buried her face in her pillow. "what a cruddy day," she mumbled before she fell asleep.

Elli woke up with drool in her mouth. that's weird. my head feels like I've been laying on a rock. She looked around her. "why am I on a bench??" she wondered aloud.  Suddenly, big bold letters appeared in front of her.  Why am I on a bench??  Elli was terrified.  "hey, are you okay?" a voice called out.  Elli looked at him. wait, he looks familiar... Elli thought. "DEREK?!" Elli cried. wait, did I say that? I didn't hear myself.  DEREK?!  letters spelled out. "yeah...how do you know me?" Derek was confused. "um. er." Elli was trying to work out what was happening. um. er.  then she thought of what Lana said as an excuse. " i... I heard you were the smartest at Danliams' college..um.. when I was trying to apply there?" Elli lied. i... I heard you were the smartest at Danliams' college..um.. when I was trying to apply there? Derek smiled. "of course." "DEREK!!" a lady's voice called out. "ohhh no..." Derek groaned.  a group of reporters was running towards Derek. "DEREK!! tell us how you graduated so soon! who's this girl you're with?" "please! one question at a time!" Derek laughed. "Miss Lana, would you like me to escort you to your car?" Derek asked. "I'm sorry, what did you call me?" 

"I've watched the movie so many times I have her house memorized," Elli mumbled.  I've watched the movie so many times I have her house memorized. "okay, that's getting creepy." Elli said.  okay, that's getting creepy. that's gonna take some getting used to.  suddenly Elli thought of something. she pulled out her phone and dialed Amber's number. "hello?" Amber's voice sleepily answered. "AMBER!!" Elli was so relieved. AMBER!! "Elli?? where are you? your mom says you're not at home!" Amber cried. "that's not surprising." Elli mumbled. that's not surprising. " I'm not sure where I am. I think... I think I'm in the movie."

"there's no way," Amber said after Elli explained. "I know," Elli said. I know. "so you met Derek??" Amber screamed. "yeah..." Elli said. yeah... "OMG!! I'M TOTES JEALOUS AND FANGIRLING RIGHT NOW!!!!!" Amber screamed. "I can tell!" Elli laughed.  I can tell! "well I need to hang up now... byeee!!" Amber said. 

Amber was shocked. "My best friend is in the movie. does this change the movie...?" Amber hesitated before picking up the disc. "oh well." she popped the disc in and waited. and waited. finally, the movie started, but a different version.  "that's Elli!!" Amber was horrified. "this is all Matthew's fault." Amber growled. "if he hadn't dumped her, then she wouldn't have gotten addicted to that movie." She quickly dialed in Matthew's number. 

"hello?" Matthew said crossly. "It's Amber." "oh, you're here because of Elli. Listen, I just wanted to say you're kinda cute, so wanna--" Matthew was cut off. "NO," Amber said angrily. "it's YOUR fault Elli is STUCK IN A MOVIE." "Wait, Elli's acting in a movie? Maybe I should get back together with her for the fame..." Matthew mumbled. "NO," Amber was disgusted. "Elli is LITERALLY stuck in a movie." She waited for a response. "I don't get it." Matthew finally said. Amber heard a faint DING-DONG!! in the background. "oop! gotta go. Cecile's here." "who?" And with that, He hung up. "What the heck!!" Amber screamed.
